Left no message -- # was spoofed; just another [***] scammer

Calumet City, IL. Called and left no message. Added to the ever growing block list.

It called me about 20 minutes before it called NJ above. It hung up on the tenth ring like most other spammers, no message. I don't answer area codes other than my own. This becomes Junk 462 in the directory on my cell phone. I give them a 'no-ring' ringtone. Then I only hear a missed call beep. Some of them do call back years later.

This 708-782-4618   called my home, at 3:35 pm, Csller ID said Merchant.   I zap the number and blocked it, before the Voice Mail could answer.   Have no idea who this is, probably another SCAM!

Caller ID said, "Calumet City, IL." Went to voicemail. The first part of the automated message was cut off, ending with a man's recorded voice stating, "To be removed from this list, press 9."

Damm Scammers keep calling some recording played, BLOCKED NOW.

How many of these "Merchant" scams are there? We block them then they pop up with a different number. Wish they would get into an old fashioned mafia vendetta and finish off their entire clan. This "Calumet City" is a new one.

I did not answer, they did not leave a message. Based on other replies, this number will go into BLOCKED status.

Received call from 708-782-4618.  Caller ID said Illinois.  Did not answer and they did not leave a message.  Blocked call.

Got a call from 708-782-4618. No voicemail message. Blocked.

Trina from some merchant(credit card services). Dumb as a box of rocks.

Some foreign broad asking if this was (our business).  I asked who she was.  Could not understand her - something, something security.  Asked to speak with whoever's in charge of - that's where I cut her off and told her to never call here again.  Yeah, I'm sure that will happen!

Caller ID is MERCHANT. So it wouldn't even hear my voice mail recording, I answered it and immediately disconnected the call. That way, there's not even a way for the scammers to leave a message or confirm that there is an answering machine.

Interestingly, this call came up on my caller i.d. as 11-708-782-4618. I wonder if the 11 - means an out-of-country call. At any rate, I didn't answer of course! My call blocker picked it right up from their own database of bad calls.
