they called my mother here in canada and told her they worked for windows and asked her to take control of her computer to fix errors on it i walked in just as they were asking for money i quickly called the number and they hung up i killed the connection to the computer

Got a call from someone who said his name was Roger Smith (strong accent).  He said he was calling from 2 Carter Street in Toronto and the number was 713 357 6334.  He wanted to take control of my computer...said I had issues.  I said I would call him back.  Don't plan to.

Just got a call from "Web Support 247", Kevin Jones (heavy Indian accent). Said he was calling from Mississauga, Ontario.  Wanted to verify my computer ID # was "304..." gave about a 20 digit number too quickly to write down.  I asked him to repeat it so I could verify it was my computer #, and he said he would verify it if I gave him access.  Told him area code 713 is not Mississauga and asked again who he was and what he wanted.  He hung up.

A guy giving his name as Jason called with a local BC phone number of 604-678-5888 to say that his company works with computers operating on a windows platform to provide security.  He had a quick speel about how pop up windows can be a security threat to my computer and they could help by providing the proper security.  He made it sound like there was something wrong with the security of my computer and when I asked how he got my phone number he said it was automatically dialled by a local server.  He said his company was multi-national and when I asked for the HQs he said it was in Ontario & gave the ph.no. 713-357-6334.  These guys just keep calling from some call centre probably located somewhere in India & try to make some big bucks by trying to scare a person into buying what they think is a security support service that they could get from their own internet carrier.

They just called - when pressed he said his name was Shane and his phone number was 1-713-357-6334 said that malicious viruses were being downloaded onto my computer every time I used it - I insisted he give me his name and phone number and this is what I got - strong accents and very aggressive.

called, said he was from web support.  getting reports whenever the internet was accessed.   said I would phone myself.   when asked for info gave his name as Lucas Joseph  at  this 713 number.

Caller said he was from web support 247, said his name was George Brown. Very aggressive. I said to him, my great grandmother, her maiden name was Brown but she didn't sound like him. He hung up.

Lady with a thick South East Asian accent called my wife about 5 pm last evening imploring her to turn on her PC straight away because viruses were being downloaded that we wouldn't want.  My wife told her that she would not do anything without me being there and that the best time to catch me was 7 am.  She didn't call me at 7 am this morning but she did call my wife at about 8.30 am and again about an hour later again urging her to turn on the PC. My wife again told her that she would not do it without me being there and insisted on a name and telephone number.  The company name the caller gave was "LV Cloud 9" and the number 713 357 6334.   The game continues - she is supposed to call me back at 7 am in the morning.

I got the same phone call this morning.  The fellow was very cooperative about giving his name, the name of the company, address and phone number.  As soon as I mentioned that I was on the Do Not Call List and I was going to report them, he hung up.  I have called the Do Not Call Registry.  A call like this seems very fishy.  Do NOT give them any info.  Not even that you own a computer.  Report immediately to the Do Not Call List if you are on it.  If they are getting a lot of calls about it, the more likely it will be taken care of immediately.

Received a call from 1-713-357-6334 (Janet) strong accent, stating that my computer was downloading malicious software for the last few days.  I just told her I would call back.  She did say the company LD something, not sure due to the accent.

What happened?

Like the previous post, I also received a call from 1 713 357 6334 (Janet) strong accent.  Gave the same spiel about malicious software and wanted me to go on my computer immediately so she could rectify the problem.  I asked her who she worked for and she said LB Cloud 9.  When I asked what it was they did she said their company "looks after Windows Computers globally"   She was really pressing me to get my computer and deal with it now but I took her number and said I would get back to her later,  (she said she worked 9-3).  After checking this site, I will not be calling her back.     Thanks for your posts

I could see how someone unfamiliar with computers could get taken advantage of, she was very aggressive.

got a call from a guy said I did not understand him so he put someone else on the phone named Allan Jordan calling from 1-713-357-6334 somewhere in Texas, claiming I had a problem with my computer and they were going to fix it, I said if I have a problem with my computer I will get someone I know to fix it and if they called me back again I would call the police and give them their name and phone number then I hung up they have not called back

Received a call today from 713-357-6334, however call I'd was 705-525-2845 on call display. Strong accent. He said you were having trouble accessing the internet today, you have been infected with some virus. If you turn your computer on right now I will show you how to fix it. My husband told him he did not look after the computer and was given this 713 #.
How do they get our #'s?

I just received a call from a individual claiming that he was from microsoft windows department.  I was advised that there were critical errors showing up.  I indicated that there were 3 computers in my house.  I then asked which computer was showing these errors.  I was advised the main computer.  I then told the person (Mr. Adan) that I actually had 3 computers.  He advised to use the main computer.  I laughed.... He requested me to press the windows button and the letter "R", and to then type eventvwr.  I asked for his phone number and told him that he was crazy and I would be checking into this further.  The fool actually tried to continue to convince me and I ended the call.  The caller had a strong indian accent. He provided 1-713-357-6334 for his phone number.   Too funny, these guys will try anything.

Just got a call from James from area code( 713) and phone # 357-6334 telling me my computer has been compromised and that I would need to sit at computer and he would help me fix it.  I smell a SCAM.

When I asked he said he worked for LV Cloud 9. When I googled this company it is headquartered in West Bengal, India so now I'm even more certain that it is a scam.

I received a call yesterday in my office  regarding computer from a person speaking in Indian ascent saying i have a problem in my computer,when i asked how they came to know about it?the guy replied we are remote technical support company we provide service to computers, i took an interest further and thought it was a scam,but they were superb they fixed up over 210 computers which i have in my office in about 3 hrs
including my Linux server and operating system of red hat for which dell charged me over $9500 and unable to fix for more than  4 months and rest were history  really they were genius when i said them i have over 200 computers, i spoke with an American guy by the name of Raymond Reynolds there general manager who helped a lot and they never asked for money first as i was skeptic but later on i paid them only a mere amount $800 for contract service paper for 5 years.i am extremely happy and satisfied about there service in fact i visited there technical planet office in the evening to make the payment,and there technical team visited my office today to check .the Indian guy whom i have spoken with first i thought he was a scam but i pardoned my words he is a genius we must have such people in our places as well.hats of to his sound knowledge.

I recieve these calls all the time,they must own 1000 s of numbers and names .  They asked me if I was the owner of the computer ,I said NO I m not ,,,,,,,,,,,they didnt know what to say ,,,,,,,,,,,said thanks and hung up. I m laughing because I usally hang up or get snarky but each time they call I have something new to say to them ,,,that was priceless and fun and it was even funnier due to the fact that I took them Off script . I see this number on my phone today ,but I was unable to pick it up this time .    Next time I might say Police Department.............that could be a good laugh too LOL, Since this number showed up here < I wont bother to return the call ,..

I was told by the police these are actualy computer generated phone calls and untraceable. and Most def out of the country

I think you folks should hear about the 2 parts to this scam.....

Like others I got a call on Oct 28th saying your laptop had major problems and I was shown examples....

$349 later which converted to $388 US I thought I had 4 years protection/service for my laptop......

Until Nov 9th when I got a call....... "Server down we will refund...."  

These guys then said "Western Union" and we went through my Visa details.....

But Visa refused the transaction.......

This is the zinger..........

Western Union didn't try to return my $349/$388 But tried to grab a further $776
