I received this message today:
Hi, this message intended to contact you. My name is Steve Martin and I'm calling regarding enforcement actions executed by US treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge on a grand jury for a Federal criminal offense. My phone number is 713-481-5118 again 713-481-5118 again . I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you.

You may happily delete the message, but do tell all your friends about this well known scam by foreign criminals. Before a 'Grand Jury'? Now that's funny!

I received the same message- 2 times different numbers- I hung up.

I have gotten three of these messages and its getting to be a pain.  Any ideas how best to report it.

I did call back and was told law enforcement was on the way. Hung up and found this site.

I called back and asked them for their information, I told them I know someone in the FYI and I wanted him to check them out, surprise they hung up

Called by this guy 3 times today already!

This is a TOTAL SCAM out of India. We have spoken to the authorities and were told there is unfortunatley nothing we can do.

When i called them back and told them i know what they are trying to do, the voice on the other end of the line said very sarcastically, "you, as in our government, have been trying to catch me for 25 years. Keep trying and take me away in handcuffs."

Just received this same scam.  Same message word for word. Sure glad I can check #'s on this site.  Thanks

just received the same message from "Steve Martin" as Sally Hopkinson detailed above.  

I received the same message today, it sounds like a recording because it repeated twice. Same caller id!

I received the same scam call from 713-481-5118. I have received it before but with a request to call a different number 213-293-3920. I've never called back. It does sound like a recording because they never say my name. Seems if someone was trying to get in touch with me from "US Treasury", they'd say the name of the person they were calling.

Got 2 of these calls yesterday. Exactly as described by Sally at the top of this chain.   The caller also indicated that in 2 hours they would be knocking on my door to arrest me.   I called the FBI and they transferred me over to the Justice Dept in DC indicating they get gobs of these reports per day.   The scammer then tries to get credit card information from you to pay off your "debt" prior to an arrest.  Many of these calls come from open court reports from people who have been to court recently, intending to scare them into offering up money.

I just received the same message this morning.  I live in Illinois.

just received a call from "jay wilson" with the us treasury department.  funny, when i asked 2 questions, he hung up.

My husband received this message at home a few minutes ago.  We live in Illinois.  When I called the number back and started asking questions the man hung up on me.  Glad I googled the number and found this site!

Received same call as Sally (top msg) from "Steve Martin".  We're in Illinois, too.

Same message. These Indian scammers are fun to mess with.
