- Ruth| 3 repliesNot only did they tell me my loan was approved but when I was adamant that I didn't want their "loan", they continued to call---went so far as to tell me that I would be arrested for fraud.... I called my attorney and he advised me to call the credit reporting agencies and put a fraud alert on my credit, then call the FBI, the agent there advised me to file complaints with the ci3.gov and when they were told about the phone threats, the FTC.gov. These people are relentless!! I hope I have caused them as much trouble as they have caused everyone on here!!!
- Slim replies to Ruth| 1 replyHere is a list of (mostly government) sites were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.
http://phonehelp.2truth.com/complaint_sites_rev.html - Ruth replies to RuthBtw-the threats were left on voiced mail so I had them saved for law enforcement to be able to listen to.
- Ruth replies to SlimThanks-I did report them to the FBI, etc. filled out many reports!!! Maybe I should report them on this too!!
- Alex| 6 repliesMy disabled son got a call from 713-581-2064. He said his name was officer Jason Miller from the CID Headquarters in Washington DC. - Alfalfa replies to AlexThis is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. Many are operating overseas and out of the reach of US law enforcement, while others are operating within the confines of prison cells here in the US, using contraband cell phones. Others are using VOIP. Either way, they are able to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
- A.M. replies to Alex| 1 replySame bs phone call to our number.
- Barbara replies to willyThis person called my house. This person is an idiot I hate him
- Lynn replies to AlexI got the same call, only they forgot to hang up and I heard them speaking Hindi. I'm not stupid. I realized the person who said he was Jason Miller spoke with an accent. I will not call them back but block that number. I may also report them to my local police station as a treating phone call.
- Unhappy Consumer| 1 replyWe received a call from 713-581-2064 claiming he was an IRS officer and that I was being investigated for various tax years. he gave an "ID#" CR1784 and a case number. When we called back asking if I could confirm his officer status with the US government he told me to "shut the F**** up". Scammers. We will be reporting them.
- CRANKY| 3 repliesI got a scam call from this number claiming I was going to be arrested today if I didn't work something out for my tax fraud. He had a thick Indian accent and gave me all kinds of info and said his name is Officer Kevin James. I laughed, I said you're kidding right. He put his supervisor on the phone, his name was Officer Mike Connors. I found this even more funny. They both got angry and started screaming at me and I said I was going to report them to the FTC, FBI and police for impersonating government employees and falsifying information. I asked for their address he said 1919 Smith St. Houson TX 77022. Phone number 713-581-2064.
- Caller: IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- lc replies to CRANKYKevin is the brother in law of Steve, who is currently a customer service Rep.for Dishnet. Maybe a "Supervisor!"
- Maggie replies to CRANKY| 1 replyOfficer Mike Connors with the heavy accent from the Treasury Department in Washington, DC called me today from this number to tell me there was a warrant for my arrest for tax fraud and evasion. I'm afraid I used a bit of bad language (told him it was bs) and hung up. Immediately, my phone rang and a message was left for me saying the police would be coming to arrest me in 30 minutes at_________ and here he recited my complete address. What a creep. Even though I knew it was bogus, my heart still pounded a little bit listening to that mean-spirited threat. I am just imagining him doing this to an elderly person and terrifying them.
