caller hung up when answering machine came on.

Rang twice and hung up.

Why do I keep getting these calls on my cell? I am on the DNC list. What an annoyance!

Don't know who is calling me - i have a 713 area code but I dont answer any number I dont know.

DNC is a waste of time.  I think they sell our numbers to these scammers.

Why do you think posting your request on a website to identify unknown phone numbers will have any results? Do you think your caller watches this site and will know who you are when they see your post and will stop calling you? Just invest in a call blocker.

Why would scammers pay thousands of dollars for the DNC list when they can just use war-diallers and call every number out there? Just invest in a call blocker, which the DNC isn't, or at the very least, don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize and don't call numbers back "just to find out who called." If they don't leave a message, they aren't worth your time.

Perhaps you're reading too much into his post.
I'd guess he got like all of us, looking up the number at the top of the page to verify that it is a trash call.
Sometimes the number in question is related to a cable provider, credit card, automakers, etc.
"Stop blowing up my phone number" seems like a legit reaction. Commiserate!!!

Or, they simply don't realise how this site works and think that posting random demands for their caller to stop will actually get results. We see countless posts like this all the time.
