Craigslist scam

This person will tell you that he is renting his very nice apartment very cheap because he is out of the country and ask you to fill up an application He goes by the name of Smith Wilson, or Stalon Krick

We had this guy (now Thomas Bernard) text my current roommate in reference to an apartment we were looking into in Astoria, NY. The price just seemed too good to be true. http://www.trulia.com/property/3012622589-3540-30th-St-1J-Queens-NY-11106 If you'd like to take a look at the apartment this guy was trying to scam us into. Here's the email we received from the guy as well:

Same deal under the name of Walker Smith in Miami, FL. His grammar is so pathetic how can he make himself pass a civil engineer! I figured it was a scam... I just replied to see how far would he go... waiting on a response!

he is also trying to rent a house in Santa Monica Ca.
Walker Smith
Civil Engineer in Manilla
will try to use a "Certificate of Ownership" as proof

HE WILL ASK FOR DEPOSIT TO BE SENT WESTERN UNION

I just jerked him along to entertain myself

He used exact same scam using Zillow in Santa Monica Ca.

There must be some legal threshold to $2,000.

This men Thomas Bernard seems to be everywhere. I'm from Belgium and he just try to with me too.
a very lovely apartment for 300€ all charge. really to perfect to be true. at first I was thinking he missed the 1 for 1300€ so I take my change and send a mail. I was happy when he tell me that it was really 300€, I hoped I was lucky for once, then I receive the request to pay by western union. I disenchanted.
Do now i just can't sleep so I make some search to try to avoid someone to be to be caught.
Unlucky for him, i never send money with Western union, and when I eared Western union it automatically tick on me " it's a trap".
And I'm not patient, so I search the address on Google map, this men live on a faculty
or in a Church, and the view on the windows from to pictures of the apartment is nothing like my town.

So for me it end with little disappointment, big laugh and a little insomnia.
