A Steven K called where I work asking for me to call him back.
(maybe a debt collector?)

If so, then they should know better since I only correspond in writing.

Caller with Indian accent phoned asking who my lawyer was and if I had a lawyer to represent myself as they had 3 judgements against me for fraud, etc and they would be issuing a warrant. Caller claimed it was regarding Cashnet.com loan. Contacted Cashnet and my loan was paid off and clear. Caller claimed to be Bob Wolmer an attorney. Was finally able to determine caller was located in India.

I too recieved a phone call this morning at 6:40AM from a man with a heavy accent, this "Lawyer" Bob Wolmer. Who also stated that I owed Cashnet.com $1300 and that I needed to  pay immediatley or I was going to go to jail/be issued a warrant for my arrest TODAY and that I too had 3 judgements against me for fraud. I did find out that the number calling 714-333-2947 is supposidly a land line out of Anaheim, CA but I'm certain that they are calling from another place/country and just using the Anaheim number as a front. I have been in contact with my local police department as well as the Anaheim Economic Crimes Division. When the Sgt. from the department called the number they stated to be "Monitery" a business that gets personal/contact information for lawyers and then faxes them the information. They also gave the Sgt. an address in Anaheim which was actually the City Hall building address!

BE AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE WHO CALL YOU!!!

I am receiving harrassing calls from a man with a thick indian accent using threatening language like " You must contact me immediately or all i could do is wish you luck as this situation befalls on you". I got the same message on two occasions and could tell it is an obviously scripted attempt at scaring me into giving them money. Do not give or confirm personal information to this scam artist.

The same number has been calling me as well, also stated the last four digits of my social security number...this has me concerned as to how they got that info?

A man with an Indian accent is calling me to say that I owe Cashnet $516 and that I will be dragged into court.  He called again today and left me a voicemail at my job telling me not to disregard this urgent matter.  I had difficulty understanding the rest of his message.

I received a call from this number this afternoon.  I let the machine pick it up, but the message that was left was nearly unintelligible.  I could tell that it was a woman with a thick accent who had difficulty pronouncing my name and the numbers. It was impossible to hear anything else due to the extreme static on the call.

Got a called this afternoon from a man with a thick accent (Indian) saying urgent return call or else.  How did they get my work number in the first place. There has to be something done about this.

Received a call today from "Don Wilson" -- identifying himself as an attorney.  Like those above, he indicated that I was going to be arrested on three fraud charges -- check fraud, bank fraud and one that I couldn't understand because of his heavy Asian accent.  He said that I had a payday loan (which I didn't) and had never repaid it.  It had been deposited into my bank account (an account closed two years ago) and when they went in to retrieve the money, the funds weren't available.  He didn't know the amount -- told me to get an attorney, the police were going to be coming here (and gave my address and SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER in full, as well as the names of my mom and a friend -- both of whom I have listed in the past as contacts).   I called my attorney, was directed to the Iowa Attorney General's Office, Banking Division.  The attorney there explained that it was a scam and that the idea was to get my current bank account number and drain the account -- by telling me that, oh-okay, it's not too late:  if we can have the account, we can probably stop the police.  They advised me not to talk with them, again.  

So ... unless I am imprisoned tomorrow ... I'll be checking back for, sadly, more posts.   (Oh -- and the bank couldn't find any deposit ... in spite of the fact that Mr. Wilson had a "transaction reference number" ... and also told me to "shut up" while he read me the affidavit. After he was finished, he instructed, I could ask questions.

Received a call today from "Scott Miller" and "Jack Adams" identifying himself as an attorney. As all the above posts stated he said that I was being served a warrant for my arrest in 24 hours for a pay day loan from cashnet in the amount of $5400 to a bank account that I closed 2 years ago. I contacted the bank and there were no transactions from that company or in that amount ever on my account.

same guy called me again, when i asked him for proof of this debt he said he would not send it, he was going to send the local sheriff to pick me up at my work or home.even threatned me saying he was going to call my work next and try to get me fired.

I to recieved a call here at my work 3/9/09,with a man with a thick indian accent. he said if i had a lawyer about this debt that he had and that i need to call 7143332947 and ask for a jack-PERSON asap.if he calls my work again i will get a lawyer involved and again on my cell 3/10/09 which i do not how he got,threatned me to send sheriff to pick me up at my work or home and wheni asked to prove the debt he refused to send information.

Called again...posing as Office Dustin White.  Thick Indian accent.  Became harassing to our employees while looking for me.  When asked what county, city he was calling from, kept stating "California".  When he previously called, he stated he was from New Jersey, California.  That's a new one.  Calling from a scambler so Caller ID is generally 000000.  When asked for his badge number, hung up the phone.  We did explain that we are allowed to know where the "courthouse" is he's calling from being that an Officer is a "public" defender and he said it's none of our business. Said he was calling from ACS law firm/courthouse.
