I just received a call from them and they left message saying I better have an attorney.  they then called my work asking for my boss saying they want to serve me. They are trying to collect on debt over 10 years old.

what did you do is this people not joking cause i got a call from them to till me things

I got a message when I came home from work saying the same thing I better have a lawyer and they will take legal action then give my ex husband from 10 years ago and my name miss spelled and misspronounced as a referance for when i call back. Its a scam. I never bought anything with him and havent been married to him for ten years. They must just be searching public records and phone number then try to scare people into paying some old debt that is fake. I did my credit report last month like i do every year. There is nothing on it so I know i don't have an old debt with anyone. She says her name is Gena Morgan. The number checks back to orange county but I live on the east coast.

I file a complaint with the consumer action department of the FTC and I got an email back that the phone call is most likely a scam.  Scammers use threats of legal action to scare you into paying.  My husband called the woman back and told her that we filed a complaint with the FTC and she hung up on him.  I called her back to ask for her companies address to send them a cease and desist letter and she hung up on me as well.

It is a scam I received the same phone call. I know it is a scm because if you owe any bills it goes to a collection agency not the police.
