I see that a lot of people are getting this call--are we sure it's a scam? I ask because I do have an outstanding medical bill (lost my job a year ago and haven't been able to pay). Honestly, this call scared the crap out of me. I've told everyone that I have no income, but I wouldn't put it past the hospital to sue me, anyway.

I should clarify: they left the message on the answering machine. They didn't say who the message was for (which I thought odd, that they wouldn't say who it was directed to) and it was a foreign voice, hard to make out (then again, many US companies are outsourcing call center work).

Cold caller with an Indian accent + threats = scam.

The call is annoying, but it shouldn't frighen you.  You cannot be arrested for being in debt.  Being in debt is not a crime.

No legitimate debt collector calls you and refuses to ID themselves. Or tell you you are going to be arrested.  You cannot be arrested for ordinary civil debt in the US.  We do not have debtor's prisons.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Don't pay these people anything in any case; they will demand payment in the form of Green dot money paks which are untraceable.

Same message as everybody else - See you in court.  When I called back no one was available.
Please contact Aneheim police.  If they get enough calls they might do something.

Got the message today said they had papers for my arrest, and they would see me in court.    

Same thing happened to, me. Well my mom to be exact she wasn't home so I,picked up the phone. I'm thinking of reporting to,the fbi also

They left a message that I would be arrested at home or work and they'd see me in court.

We got the same "have you arrested" and "see you in court" at 8:40 this morning. We have NO debt...so not fear. It's a scam. Very threatening. Wish there was something we could do.

I arrived home from work today to find a message from a female with an accent on my phone stating they "have received a legal case against me and that I  would be arrested at my legal residence or my place of work".   If I "wanted additional information I should call 714-464-8046" and "they would see me in the courthouse".  I had no idea what this was about so even though it was after 6pm I called the number and got a machine stating the person was not available.  Looking at my caller ID log, the call came from "Eddie Network" with the same number.  I did a little "Google" research and see that this appears to be a new scam, some indicating it is directed at seniors of which I am one.  I hope the police are able to put these people behinds bars as they are threatening to do to the people they call.

This is the second time yesterday that i received this call. Last time was December of 2013. It had o be a scam because nothing ever happened from the first phone call.

Samething happened here.. Let's all call the Consumer Financial Protection bureau number is 800-677-1116 and filled a complaint, maybe the do something about it.
