This number calls our business several times per week.
The caller ID says "Unknown Name."

We have answered, but they hang up.

The call originates from California.

Yes, says unavailable in the  CID.  I didn't answer, and they hung up.  The question is, why is there so much of this type of call lately?  And if they are pitching something, why don't they leave a message?  So very strange.

Called 3 times today so far. No message, I blocked the number after the 1st call so it doesn't ring through to me, but I can still see what numbers have been calling.

Well today brings three calls in a row, same experience as already posted (no one speaks, etc.).  Have gotten other from this number over time but not w/this intense time frequency.  NEXT, THEY GET THE AIR HORN OUTGOING MSG :)

I got a series of pre-recorded messages. I answered with my usually thing but heard nothing. I said "hello" which usally gets the robo-caller to kick me to a human but this was a message saying my business was pre-approved for a plantinum line of credit. I told it I'm not the owner & they are in Birmingham, AL at our corporate office. It asked if I was the ower, I said no, then it apologized & said it would remove me from their calling list. All the repsonses were pre-recorded but they were good responses to what I was saying. Weird. Guess telemarketers are gonna be out of a job soon.

Just a short possible explanation for the incoming call where the recipient gets no response from the caller when the recipient answers the phone. My belief is that the call originator is engaged in the process of confirming the recipients phone number. When you answer the phone, the originator (usually a computer) can immediately know many things: the phone# is a working #, how the number is answered (i.e. person/answering mahine/fax, etc). They then turn around and market your phone number as part of a list that has been verified and pre-qualified so that they can get a higher price for the list). The moral of the story is that answering unrecognized telephone numbers is bad for ya (as George Carlin would say). I don't know how business's that serve the public can get around this because it is not an option to wait to see if the incoming caller leaves a voice mail with legitimate content.

I agree with you that these telespammers needs to be in prison and with no phone privileges--and NO WiFi and NO ethernet!  I've gotten at least 3 calls from this darn "BREA" lately.  My business is a small and LOCAL operation, not national, let alone, international.

She's fast talker wanting to activate a line of credit for the business. I ask to take  her # and have the owner return her call (SINCE SHE NEVER VERIFIED WHO I WAS) and she hung up on me.

Why don't you ignorant people put ur energy into filing a complaint with the feds...I do every call..I don't cut no slack! Its a spammer trying to sell visa credit. When Kelly called me I told her I'd be glad too if she gave me oral or [***] :)

Called unfamiliar number and out of area so did not answer.  No message was left as usual.  Will report to federal dnc but usually that does no good.

They offered me an $8,000 line of credit.  Just wanted my checking account number and bank routing number to activate it.   Yeah, right.
