- cminter| 5 repliesThis guy, Kevin Peterson (can't be real name) with very heavy foreign accent called and said he represents the Jack Ryder law firm (I actually got him to spell it out before he hung up on me), then said I was being sued for non-payment on a pay day loan...I've NEVER taken out any pay day loans! I then called him back every second for the next half hour, at which time he called me a mother****** and said if I don't stop calling he was going to come over and kick my a** - funny since he's in CA and I'm in TX. I could hear more of the same calling going on in the background. Total scam artist....they really don't like being called back 50 times though! I recommend you keep calling back and flood their system with phone calls....

- b Gamble| 1 replyI also received a call from a man at 714-733-5615 saying he had all of my account numbers from a so called pay day loan co. I would have my social security stopped for repayment of funds presented on my checking account. I have called social security, my bank and all three credit agency and reported fraud . I also gave the phone number to the agent at social security. How do these people get away with this?
Very mad senior.- Caller: not sure
- ggaryI keep getting the same phone call telling me that I should call them or have my attorney to call right away and if he don't here from us that it too bad for me. He states his name is James Miller, sound like he from another country, no damn well his name ain't no James Miller. But he can forget calling me cause he ain't got a damn thing coming!!!
Scam Artist written all of it.- Caller: some phoney foreign guy

- babydollI recieved a call from this same number, with simuliar type message, saying im going to be arrested for fraud and 2 other things, are these people serious, I think I just might have my attorney call them and scare the [***] out of them!!! This is harrassment, and be it known if you are on social sercurity they can not take your social security away for any such thing, the worst that they could do is have a DA contact you or arrest you and you pay the crap if any such had actually taken place! I filled out a online survey and all the sudden i have calls from these people, they didnt even have my email right. Legal aspects such as this are sent through the mail, or delivered by a police officer! Do not listen to these people they are crazy and only trying to get money!!!!
- Caller: phony law firm
- babydoll replies to b GambleDont worry they cant take away social security, especially for BS like that.
- Laura BedwellI received a call at work and said I owed a payday loan in another state and they were going to send my local sheriffs deparment to arrest me. They say they have my social security number and my bank account info. They asked me if I have a lawyer. I said no and they told me my local police department would be at my workplace to arrest me.
- Caller: Jennifer Gray Law Offices
- Mary MorganJust received the same kind of call. The funny thing is I received the same kind of call about 4 months ago. I let the guy go through the whole little spill about I was going to be arrested, how chargers were filed against me and all that. I asked what I could do to resolve this matter and guess what he said that I could take care of it if they receive $745 before end of business day. He asked if I would be able to do this. Ha I told him no didn't think so because I told him he tried this scam on me about 4 months ago but that I would call the district attorneys office and let them know that he was trying to get $745 from me. Guess what he hung up on me.
- KelliGot a voicemail from this guy, James Miller, two days ago. The message is for "Mary", obviously not me. After reading the post on here I am contacting the local sheriff's office to report the scam. I suggest everyone else do the same.

- Latisha replies to cminter| 1 replyI have received a msg from a Travis Walker with a very heavy accent from this phone number (714-733-5615) saying the same things. That I was being sued for non-payment (didn't specify). I try to call back, but the number does not ring. This is horrible. Law Enforcement should really do something about these calls.
- TATER replies to cminterI KEEP GETTING CALLS SIMILAR TO THIS. THIS PARTICULAR NUMBER JUST STARTED A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. THE LAST TIME, ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO, WAS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT NUMBER BUT AFTER GOOGLING THE NUMBER THEY ARE OUT OF THE SAME AREA. ALL STATING THE SAME THING THAT I OWED MONEY TO A CASH ADVANCE AND THAT THE ORIGINAL COMPANY DID NOT HAVE TIME TO TALK TO ME. I KEPT ASKING FOR INFORMATION THAT THEY HAD ON ME AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE IT TO ME. I ASKED A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS A LAWYER, HE SAID TO NOT OFFER UP INFORMATION THAT THEY CANT GIVE YOU...IE.... WORK PLACE, CITY OF WHERE YOU LIVE, AND MOST DEF NOT YOUR SOCIAL. THREATEN THEM RIGHT BACK THAT YOUR PHONE IS TAPPED AND THE FBI IS LISTENING TO THEIR THREATS AND WILL BE LOOKING FOR THEM. I FELL FOR THIS ONCE LAST YEAR AND SO WILL NOT AGAIN. STAY INFORMED AND DONT LET THEM GET YOU.
- Angie8893| 1 replyI received a call from a very heavy accent foreigner and he said that he was from a law firm of Jennifer Swords and I was being sued for non-payment of a payday loan and I was to call back to the number 714-733-5615. I did and finally got through, when I did she said her name was Anna Jones and she was an attorney at law. I was being sued and when I asked by who she said I would find out at court, I asked ok when is court, she replied you will find out when the sheriff serves the papers today at your place of employeement to your supervisor.
Well there's a whole lot of things wrong with the above statement including how illegal this collection practice is but furthermore I do not have any outstanding loans or any I haven't paid. Apparently these phone calls are comming from overseas and they feel they are not held liable to our laws, one also laughed at me and said you can't find me even if you wanted to, repeatedly they have hung up on me when I would ask verification questions. This is some kinda of scam, they are hoping that I would say ok I will just pay you, don't take me to court.
Someone in needs to come up with a plan because I am being harressed on a daily basis by one number or another.- Caller: Law Firm of Jennifer Sword

- Frazzled DazzleI received a call from a very heavy accent foreigner and he said that he was from a law firm of Jennifer Swords and I was being sued for non-payment of a payday loan, I informed him that I wasn't aware of any of this and he stated everything was sent to my email address, and I was to call back to the number 714-733-5615. I found it odd that it was the same number he just called mefrom, when I did a lady picked up ( I was disturbed that I dont remember their names, and at that I had a hard time understanding them) and she was an attorney at law. I was being sued and when I asked by who she said I would find out at court, I asked ok when is court, she replied you will find out when the sheriff serves the papers today at your place of employeement to your supervisor. They said they would ask their supervisor to see if they could help me out & that I had to an amout that was over $300. They couldn't provide me with any dates just kept yelling at me to get in contact with the sheriffs department.
My husband called them back to ask to speak to a supervisor and they said flat out NOPE! When we yellow paged the # nothing came up so we googled it and here we are, I am so relieved to see that it was a scam.- Caller: Law Firm of Jennifer Sword

- ANNONYMOUSI KEPT RECEIVING CALLS FROM A YOUNG LADY BY THE NAME OF STEPHANIE ORRS WITH A VERY HEAVY ACCENT IMPLYING THAT I HAD TAKEN OUT A PAYDAY LOAN AND THAT THERE WAS A WARRANT OUT FOR MY ARREST AND THAT THE SHERRIF WILL BE WAITING FOR ME AT MY PLACE OF RESIDENCE IF I DIDN'T PAY THEM BACK. WELL I HAD MY ATTORNEY CALL AND A GUY BY THE NAME OF KEVIN PETERSON ANSWERED AND WHEN MY ATTORNEY CLAIM THAT HE WAS TRACING THIS CALL AND INSISTED ON SPEAKING TO STEPHANIE, KEVIN CALLED MY ATTORNEY A MOTHERF***KER AND AN A**HOLE AND THEN HUNG UP. F**CK YOU KEVIN PETERSON!!! I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- jimmyjoeGot a call from Roger Jones, at this number, saying I would be served with papers if I didn't call them immediately concerning a loan. I called and got Kevin Peterson on the phone and was told he was with the law office of Jennifer Swords. My wife called and was getting a call from Annna Jones at her work and Anna would be calling me with instructions on how to pay the loan back. She wanted me to get a pre-paid Visa card for $500 and fax them all the info I smelled a rat and did a Google of Jennifer Swords. Thats when I found this website. Shame they can get away with all this.

- anonymous replies to LatishaThis is a version of the you-have-committed-a-crime extortion scam and you are being...
1. charged with fraud or passing bad checks or embezzlement or
2. served with a court summons or arrest warrant or bench warrant or whatever or
3. located in preparation to being served or for a lawsuit or to be arrested or
4. sued for cable TV usage that you've been stealing for years or
5. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.
And you have to...
1. call back with your case number or
2. confirm your address or SSN or whatever so you can be served or your papers can be processed or
3. pay $895 now to avoid paying $5,000 in court or
4. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.
Beware extortion scams come in many flavors and they constantly evolve to stay one step ahead of the law.
The FBI warns about payday loan extortion scams here http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710
The BBB has issued several alerts on this scam, just google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"
Never do what they tell you to do but report them to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate. - Scotti johnson replies to cminterIMPORTANT READ THIS: I have the same story....I got these calls from some indian guy who could barely speak english and his name was Erick brown....funny....the not so funny part is that this same (or some random company) was able to extract money from my bank account....they took out almost 200 dollars....my bank took care of it...I got the money back bbut I was advised BY MY BANK to close my account, stop my direct deposits and open a whole new account. It seems that if you ever used a payday loan company for whatever reason, (which I did because of a dental emergency) and long after you pay them back (which I did) they then give yuour personal information out to various people or agencies. I closed my account and opened a new one....but now have to deal with these calls.....get your bank and social security or whatever on your side!!!
- Kap replies to Angie8893Just had Anna Jones call me as well.... wouldn't give me a case number, fax me any papers or anything but the really scarey thing is that she had an awful lot of information on me. I've planning to report this scam.
