I got a call from this number and blocked it.  Then it called a number on my account and told them he was a mediator in a case.  The last time I checked mediators send notices and don't call people unless there is a lawsuit of some sorts.  

I got a call from him also. Probably a debt collector?

I also got a call from this number but in the caller the number was different 224-315-8657 he said hes name was Tom Moyer and he was calling about the check division that a complain had been done under my name for me to call him , When he gave his number it was 716-256-11577 not the one from the caller id .

Did you call back? My mother in law got a call like that regarding me today. Now i am worried...

No i didn't. Actually i got another one today he said this was my last chance and that i had been nofified . Kinda of scary but i will not fall for any more scams.

the call gave a personal name and no name of a company

This was a message for a mediator for a loan that I defaulted on.  They were working as a go between to prevent this from going to court.

Tom Moyer and Kevin Rivers, Mediators for SRI.  Say they have a claim pending.  Scam debt collectors who buy old loans. Wont comply with collection laws.  Record you when you dont allow it. Paraphrase something that I did not say.  Dont buy into these guys.  Any legitimate collector will send hardcopy the claim of debt. They will not employ the threat of pending litigation or a visit to your job as these guys did.  They talk to people in the backgorund while they are on the phone.  They use technical jargon to scare clients.

First of all, tehy cannot claim on the phone to you or any phone message that they are calling on behalf of a claim.  That is not collection law.  They demand 2 hours to put a card on file.

Don't let them harass you.

My parents received a call from Tom Moyer saying it was a civil matter against me. The number he left was 315-802-5422. I don't know what this is about, but it's scary!!! He didn't even leave a company name!
