- WDG| 3 repliesNew Era Asset Management - one of several numbers they use.
Some kind of scam "debt collector."
Unless you are absolutely certain they are calling on a verifiably collectable debt, these scammers should always be blocked. (They should be blocked even then, as it's much too easy to say something you shouldn't on the phone.) If they have a legitimate account, they'll have a legitimate mailing address. DO NOT speak with them by phone, and DO force them to verify that the debt is yours, collectable, and within statute of limitations... IN WRITING.- Caller: New Era Asset Management

- moyb| 1 replyGot a message from Jonathan Randall from New Era Asset Mgmnt. Wanted me to call to discuss xxxx xxxxx. He named my son-in-law. WTF? Looked them up - no website. Per corporationwiki.com, they formed their business in May of 2016. Very recent. Most likely to escape the other business name the owner had of EASTPOINT RECOVERY GROUP INC., also out of the infamous collection scam-town of Buffalo NY. Both business owned by TIM HUTCHINGS. Do NOT call these scammers back. Just do a web search of Eastpoint Recovery Group and you will hit upon scam after scam - just a new name, same scam operation. Get a life Mr. Hutchings!!

Indicated they are calling on behalf of "their client" -- too much detail if they were legit to leave on a "strangers" voicemail and no message regarding " ...this is an attempt to collect a debt..."

- not Michael replies to AnonymousIf in doubt call the phone number on your bank statement, credit card statement, or the back of your credit card. They will be able to help you find out exactly how much you owe and how to pay it off in a reasonable amount of time.
There ARE scammers out there, people who will lie to you to trick you into giving them all of your money. Never pay any bill until you have confirmed that you really owe the debt and are paying the right people. - ALLEN JASPER| 1 replyI just paid my More furniture for Less account with a Mr. Scholl from the same office and I know they aren't a scam because I called Genesis Financial and they directed me to the account holder/owner, who then provided me with New Era Asset Management (3rd party collection agency) info to resolve my date. Mr Scholl offered me a settlement, I gave them my account information and they processed my payment with no problem. I needed to pay this account off in order to proceed with buying a house. I'm sorry but its extremely rude to slander a company with false claims Kaitlyn Thomas.....JUST SAYING!

- KristinaSome guy named Joshua has called my mother in law, father in law and brother in law before calling me. Said he's been trying to call me since June. That's funny because I answer every call and I've had the same number since January. But what I want to know is how he got my in laws numbers

- Joe C| 1 replyI had a legitimate debt with this company. They are called New Era Asset Management. I ened up settling an account I had from a few years ago. They sent me a verification of debt, and after it was settled they sent a letter confirming it was resolved. Why are people saying they are scammers? A legitimate debt collection company provides this information when you ask for it, if they don't they might be a scam. Ask for verification of your debt.

- A Shill Alert... replies to Joe C... has been issued for this "happy customer".
- Danny replies to ALLEN JASPERI agree. I am paying off a genesis account as well. If this is the collection agency that you’re creditor chose to turn to, that is their decision to make. They are probably a cheaper option for smaller companies to use.
