Received a call from this number.  Since it's an unknown number that is apparently spoofed I quickly picked up & then quickly disconnected the phone.  And now this number will be blocked on my phone.

Received call with same CID @ 835pm Jan 3, 2017.  On our answering machine -- first a brief electronic noise, then a male voice "Hello?" once.  Then they hung up.

The id reads Voip Street Inc.  The second time the number rang today I picked up.  It was Joel Collins from a police fund raiser group.  I requested that I not be called again and my number be taken out of their system. Je did say he would comply.

I got 2 calls from this number so far about a week apart.  Most or all of these police fund raisers are scams.  The cops around here make 6 figures.  Do you get Nursing fund raising calls, IT staff fund raising, programmer fund raisers?  Give to your local Fire Department and local town Police/PBA or county Sheriff if you want, or ask if the money can go to fallen cops' widows or their orphaned kids.  But contact them or go see them in person.  Cops contribute to their respective Police Benevolent Association (PBA).  It is taken out of their paycheck like Union dues.  They do not do fund raisers over the phone.  If it's a special fund raiser for a fallen cop's family, go to your Police station and inquire how to donate or see the captain, chief, or go to your Town Hall.  I was getting these calls a lot a few years back from a company claiming to be raising money on the "state level" for fallen cops' children.  I called the NY State Police and they said they were not aware of any such fund raiser.  They are all scams to take your money and your credit card info.
