A woman claiming to be Agent Katherine Brown from the IRS saying I was being sued for tax invasion and fraud. When I told her I thought it was a scam because I have a certified tax guy and I do my taxes every year and get returns. She became angry and told me I will see who is scamming who when the sheriff's show up to my door in 2 hours amd arrest me.

Threatening call scam:
"Call as soon as possible. There is a lawsuit which is going to file in federal claim court house within couple of hours and the local County Sheriff are going to arrest you for five criminal allegations. So before this matter goes to the court house and you get arrested. Kindly get back to us at 716-507-4025. I repeat 716-507-4025. Now if you don't return the call then the only thing that I can do is wish you good luck."

Received call from 716-507-4025. Message said to call the number for information about a lawsuit filed against me from the US Treasury.  Said I will have to appear before a US magistrate & federal grand jury.
I have my taxes done by a licensed CPA.
The IRS will NEVER notify you of anything to do with your taxes over the phone.  They will send you a certified letter.
This is a scam.

They have been calling me all day and actually left a message saying they were from the IRS. They gave me the number for the Buffalo, NY IRS office - 716-961-5100 to verify. I checked that number and it appears to be real so can't imagine what the Buffalo NY office must be dealing with.  The accent of the person on the phone was very musical and sounded like they were from Pakistan or India.

Same message as above-mentioned. Criminal case; must appear before the Court.  The FBI should get involved in this scam.  Not good.   Will send a message to them now.

They claimed this was their second attempt to contact me in a federal case. (Of course, the beginning part of the message was cut off because they weren't equipped to deal with voice mail.) I know I've done nothing wrong and that I've not been contacted before. Jerks. Gotta be scam.

I have gotten this call today as well. They said it was a second outreach and that they were a federal magistrate regarding a grand jury and that I had better call them back.

Called today from female computerized voice (very good actually) saying the US Treasury had issued a warrant for my arrest on a Federal Warrant and I needed to call back to avoid being arrested.  She went on to say "if you don't call back...then good luck"

Just got this call! Called back they couldn't even tell me my name... don't fall for this ... these are scammers!

LMAO. Got the call and went along with it. When I said I'd pay now, he said, "that is the smart thing to do".

He transferred me to his supervisor to get the ball rolling. Supervisor asked me to spell my full name. I asked, do you have s pencil", he said yes. I said my first name is spelled F....U....C....K. And my last name is spelled... Y...O...M...O....M....M....A.

End of scam.

Just got the call saying 2nd attempt before I would appear before federal  judge on federal charges. But what's funny is they never said what I was supposed to have done. Hope these jerks get caught.

They left two messages on our voice mail. Last one was verbatim what RickB reported. I called our State Attorney General's office who told me this is another scam & hard to trace. They were very helpful & thanked me for calling. I'm hoping the scum-of-the-earth scammers call back, as I have found this really cool & LOUD whistle.....

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.  IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government.     Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest as related to ordinary tax disputes.  Having a deficiency in taxes owed by way of audit is NOT a crime.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Received a call from this number .  They have called several times previously.   The number was not familiar so I did not answer the call.  Checked and as I thought a scam.  I will add to my blocked calls.

I reviewed a call being told I was being sued for 5 different accounts and would be arrested in a couple of hours if I don't call them , I've gotten this call before from another state and number , it's a scam !!!!!

I got this same call 3 times from 716 507-4027. Same lies. The third time I called back I spoke softly. When he said he couldn't hear me I softly said , Ok how's this ? And I blew my soccer referee whistle as loudly as I could. I hope he had a headset.

I have one too. It works great. I think I'll call them often.
