Two calls today.  Was not home.  Message left, threatening will be arrested unless I call this number.  Do not fall for this.

I received this threatening voice message also.

I received this same message. 2 calls yesterday and 2 today. Threatening imprisonment by a judge & I KNOW I haven't done anything to warrant such. I'll not be calling you back...so stop the threats and harassment twice a day.

IRS scam.  Using an American based robo-greeter.  Claiming to be the "Bronx address" for the local IRS office.  Ignore and block the calls.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.  IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government.     Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest as related to ordinary tax disputes.  Having a deficiency in taxes owed by way of audit is NOT a crime.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

I just received the same phone calls and threatened today!

I just received the same threatening phone call. I have blocked the number!

I received the same call twice today. What can I do to stop them? I just became a widow, and dnt need this.

My girl just received the same call just now and she was freaking out. I told her from the start it's fake! IRS will not call and just leave a message for you to call them back.

I received the same call...this is terrible!!!! If there are so many complaints out there already why hasn't this stopped????

I definitely smelled scam as soon as I got the voice message, but called the number back. It actually did scare me when I was told my past 7 yrs tax returns were audited and that I owed upwards of $100,000. While waiting for the sheriff to come arrest me I called my sister. She googled the number and found the info on this site. I love my sister!

Got this call too! Unfortunately I gave my address. Should have looked here first. Any suggestions on what I should do?

It's very fun to mess with them, tell them you have money, irritate them call them a lot to mess w them don't make it easy , it's kinda fun

Threatening phone call regarding a case number from some sort of court.  I have done nothing so this is a scam. Do not answer your phone!

Said it was the final notice and that I would be arrested.

Same number called my house 2x's get a freaking life my God!!!!!!

Just received call saying I needed to call about my federal case. couldn't tell what company was calling as it was very scratchy message

2 calls today about 3 hours apart. Consider not calling them back even it it is just to mess with them. If you call them back then they know they have an actual person at that number. They can use it for another scam or sell the number to somebody else.

Same as the others who have posted.  3 calls all threatening I would be arrested and "wish you luck" if I didn't respond.  First off, they don't ask for anyone or mention anyone by name.  Just "you".  If there were 30 people living in our house, which "you" would they be referring to?
