- JMSays i have to call regarding "a confidential matter". Leaves no name - only the phone number?
- Caller: ?
- BEMy daughter answered the call and a woman said she was "Michelle Tanner" and she wanted to speak with my husband or me. The caller refused to tell my daughter what the call was about and only stated that the phone call was about "personal info". My youngest daughter remarked that "Michelle Tanner" was a made up character on Full House a tv show which now airs on ABC Family channel.
- BarbCaller talked to my daughter said was michelle tanner(she said right away it was a fluk because of the name)turns out when i called they are a collection agentcy trying to collect on a medical bill.
- PelMichelle Tanner called me from this number 717-397-0901. Didn't even have my full name correct. Sounded like drug addict. Barely coherent individual. Couldn't understand what she was saying. Real loser.
- MyTwoCentsGot a call from 717-397-0901, caller ID showed: Credit Bureau of Lancaster. The girl who clamied to be Michelle Tanner would not talk to me since I wasn't the one she called for.

- Sherry WierCaller ID... Michelle called and said she had personal information for Barry. Barry has left the state many months ago and this is my personal cell phone and never had anything to do with Barry. She would not give any other information. I asked her where she got my number and she said someone gave it to her it was confidential. I found the call very upsetting to say the least!
- RipJGarciaNo Michelle Tanner here. My voicemail was a Stacy Myers. The number doesn't show up on my caller ID, it just shows up as withheld and then they leave a message.

- BillReceived numerous calls weekly asking for a Louise Pemberton. If I wasn't Ms. Pemberton I was to hang up. I called this number and asked them to remove my number from their system. They refused to disclose who answered the phone, what the company was or the line of business they were in. It took me 4 calls to them to get them to remove my number from their records. No gurantees.

- LAMET replies to honestySounds like plain old common sense doesn't it?
Too Bad debt collectors have NO COMMON sense.
You can read hundreds of complaints about a collector repeatedly calling the wrong number and being told numerous times it is a WRONG number - but they keep calling anyway!
At least the WRONGED CONSUMER has the RIGHT to sue the collector for the harrasing calls
Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt CollectionPractices Act in some situations.
Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.
This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc. NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls. In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc. Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.
David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors. Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call. Judge Davis wrote;
[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.
Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.
So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?
1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer. - sarai just had this number call me... the lady i spoke w/ would not give me her name or tell me anything. they wanted to talk w/ my grandmother and i told her that i would take a message. she told me she would call back. i told her that this was my personal cell phone and she need not call it back. claimed this was the only number for my grandmother. when i asked what message i should relay she said to just have her call back. i asked for a company name what they do and what they were calling in regards to, as well as her name. only answer i got??? legally i cant tell you.......

- medicalscrewupsThis a medical bill collector. Which calls every few day even when your paying your bill. If you don't pay in full or can't afford to pay it off I one shot for way over priced medical care. They don't care that you need to pay your house or appt rent. The collector just wants it now. So just pay 5 bucks a month and they have to accept it that way.

- Marie J.I keep getting calls from this number and they do not leave any messages. What's the point of calling if you are not even going to leave a message? Based on the information that I'm seeing here it's seems to be from a medical debt collector from the Lancaster area and I don't even see doctors in Lancaster and have full medical coverage. I just can understand this!
