Called home number...left no message

Called home phone. When call answered, dead air then hang up proceeded.

717-555-6769 is not a valid number. If you are sure that you got a phone call from a number beginning with this prefix, the caller may have 'spoofed' caller ID.

Caller claimed to be from local fire department and wanted to clean chimney.  The caller then became verbally abusive when told not interested.  Had new york or new jersey accent.  Minimum wage telemarketer who still lives at home with his mom.

First of all do NOT answer these calls, mine said Pennsylvania and looked like it could be a friend calling from their cell phone, because our call ID does not list all names from cell phones.  As soon as I saw 555 I knew it wasn't someone I knew...think about it, this is the prefix they use for phones numbers in movies and TV....so do not answer cause now they know their is a body there to answer.

Caller from 717-555-6769 claimed to be from fire dept. when told not interested told me "sometime we do run into a**holes" ... unbelievable.

Received call on my home phone.  It was male Call ID stated Dir Assist PA 555-6769 asked to speak with me.  I asked who was calling and he said Susan.... then hung up!  Tried to call the number and message received was this number you are calling is not valid please try your call again!

Caller did not identity himself. First words spoken were "cause I want to get my drink on". He then said my name like he knew me and then asked me if I wanted my chimney cleaned,  "cause we're gonna be in da area all week." I told him I was going to be gone for two weeks.  Then silence.  He then said "just tell me ya don't want it." Then mumbled "two weeks"

Claimed to be offering chimney sweep for $50 (half priced) this week,  When I asked what company they are calling from , she just said "interstate" and they call once a year.  I left her go thru her speech and when she asked when it would be convenient to schedule the service - I told her I was not interested - she went onto say this was only offered for a week  I said I understand and thanked her again and hung up. ( and I do agree with WMs comment, she did have a Jersey accent)

Within 2 hours, I received 717-555-6769 and 908-555-6769.  No message from either call.

Received call from 717-555-6769. Caller claimed to be from a service which cleans chimney flues. When I responded I was not interested caller became verbally aggressive telling me they would be "on your block" tomorrow and that they would see me.

My immediate response to a ringing HOME phone is to answer it. A woman that sounded african american (yes, some races are identifiable by their speech) said "and then the bay came out." It was like my cordless picked up on someone else's conversation. Regardless, annoying loser is ore likely.

Got this call today.  Guy was totally abusive.  What the heck do they get out of doing this?  Must be some a...hole with no life.  

2 calls in 2 days. Answered second one though I knew it was a spoofed number. Male caller who was abusive as soon as I said "Do Not Call list". he told me that his chimney sweeping company was saving lives so they didn't have to worry about the Do Not Call list. A$$ hole knew my name and street. Misters Smith and Wesson will be here to greet him.

Got this call today, answered it though it looked odd.  Guy with a new york accent asked for me by name, said he was john from chimney sweep how are you, I said fine, how are you?  To which he replied these people are f*cking [***] and hung up.

Called to say we were due for chimney service. Pretty much tore the poor girl apart then hung up on her. Tired of this nonsense.

Received a call from this number this morning. Decided to have a little fun with them, so I picked up and said nothing until they said, "Hello? Mrs. Lorry?" (Not even the correct pronunciation of my name) I told her, "Hi, you're on the air." She gasped and hung up.

Why would ANYONE actually answer a call that (1) had 555 in its prefix, and (2) was a number associated with someone they did NOT even know?!!! Those people have NO COMMON SENSE whatsoever!!!
