- Terminate Scammers(728) 517-4713 robo call using a spoofed number. I did push the number to get an agent. Sounded like an Indian call center. They would not tell me who their company was and were clearly irritated when I finally dropped the F bomb on the person and hung up. Received at least 3 offshore calls immediately after that trying to harass me!
Definitely scammers no legitimate company behaves this way.

- Damage Control replies to tiffanyUnless you gave them your credit card NUMBER or bank account or some other piece of information that can be used to obtain your money directly, then your credit card is fine but you're now on their list as:
- being an active phone number (because you answered)
- being a viable target for any type of telemarketing or phone scams (you were willing to talk to a stranger who called you unsolicited and give them financial info that most people consider very private)
- an easy target
So while your accounts should be safe unless you really did give them the info they need to obtain access without your knowledge or permission, they still have other information now which they can use for things like identity theft (they might use info you gave to find out MORE info about you, enough for identity theft purposes or even potentially going after your credit cards in the future) and trying to scam you.
Keep a close eye on your cards, bank, etc. in the coming weeks and just be extremely cautious going forward. Don't ever give out that kind of information again when you get an unsolicited phone call or email. Don't answer unknown numbers, and if you do by mistake hang up once you realize. If you need the services of, for example, debt consolidation, then YOU'LL be calling THEM. Don't accept an unsolicited random offer from a stranger on the phone simply because you think what they're claiming could apply to you. Do your research on whatever sort of business or service you need and then call yourself.
If you get a call from an unrecognized number but you're unsure what to do because you're expecting a call from a financial institution or something of that nature, then when you get the call you think is that person, answer it if necessary. However, unless you're 100% certain it's definitely the real company, you should explain to the person calling that you can't give out any information without knowing for sure who they are. Request they give you a number for you to call right back. Then hang up and make sure the number they gave you matches what you would expect it to be (as a last resort you can google it but make sure you actually go to the sites and read what it says, and make sure the site is trusted - only use official sources). If it does, then call the number back and follow whatever instructions you were given.
Most people will make the same mistake you did at least once, it happens even to responsible and intelligent people (since these a$$holes are experts at manipulation and figuring out how to exploit a weakness). All you can really do now is make sure it doesn't happen again and check up on things regularly to make sure everything is fine. - B replies to tiffanyIf you didn't disclose your credit card numbers, social security number, bank account numbers, name or any identifying information, then you should not have anything to worry about. If you did disclose any of that, you should call your bank and tell them and ask what to do. Also contact your credit card company and tell them.
- Rich replies to KCWARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!
