is this a scam number???

Leaves voice mail claiming that "you have past-due central freight invoices", and to call "Miss Walker" at 732-679-0042, x373.  Calling that number gives you some kind of collection agency.  Dialing x373 announces that it is for someone other than 'miss walker', but when the voice mail greeting picks up, it announces it is for "bill taylor".  It appears on the surface to be some kind of calling pool, possibly a scam.

I think this is a legit collections company, used by DHL

We received a call yesterday left msg on voice mail but could not make out the number to return a call to.  Did catch the DHL portion of this.  Since we use DHL I tried to find out thru DHL but they could not tell me anything.  Today we get another phone call leaving msg on voice mail telling me that this is the second time they have called and that I need to call them back.  Same name "Miss Cressler"... I called back and left msg but then decided to look the number up on Google.  They are calling our main number and not our corporate number.  If it were legitimate then they would have the correct number to call to get to us....

Got a semi-comprehensible voice message from someone named Steve Lehr )Lehrer) at extension 278: Something about DHL and a brokerage company I was with 4 or 5 years ago.

Definitely sounds like collection intimidation/scam

The caller claims to be with Amalgamated Financial - and the reply number is ansered by the same firm

forgot to mention that the message leaver gives a very specific address in New Jersey to send checks to.

Got a call from 732-679-0042 ext 219.  It was from a Pam Reed.  She was talking real fast and I could not make out the name of her company at the time.  Claims it is for an unpaid invoice but she did not give the name of the company it refered to. She also did not call until after 4 p.m. our time, (I leave at 4 p.m.), claiming she needed a call back by the end of our business day. I don't bother with collection agencies unless they can provide me proof that we owe the bill, especially, when they never sent me anything in writing regarding this "bill" in the past.

got a call from them from some guy who could not remember his name or extension. Said he represented Fed Ex

Recieved a call from Steve Malone ext 337 - said he was from Fedex - I told my receptionist I'd be with him in a minute, Steve got pissed off and said he could not wait !
I am to call him back...well Dude, hold your breathe. I have paid Fedex in full.
looks like this is an intimidation/collection agency used by the freight companies.

I've been getting calls from this number as well, claiming our FedEx account is past due.  I called FedEx directly and they said it is a scam.

I have received a call every day for the past week from this number claiming a Fedex Account is past due.  This is of course not true as I have a UPS account and not Fedex.  I haven't answered the call and have just let them leave messages.  After seeing this site I'm going to answer the next call and tell them I know it's a scam and give them the number of my attorney.

I called our vendor and talked with a credit analyst. She gave me this number so that I could contact the agency who does collections for them. They may be sleezeballs but they are a legitimate collection agency.

scam call saying we owe money to century link, not true

Yep same here, said they are century link and i owe...they should at least try to look a little more official with a 888 or 800 number!! Nice try!!

Called and left message.  4th time in the last couple of months.  Could not understand half of what was said but they called regarding a century link bill and to call back and left the number x8825.  Was asking for a different name, that I couldn't understand either.  I think it may be collections but obviously the person they are looking for gave them a different phone number than their own.

Same here, they left a message, but didn't say the name of the person they tried to reach. They called twice, no name each time, asked me to call back regarding century link account. Showed no caller ID, can't block the number, and i am with comcast for years.

The caller 1st tries to call from an unknown caller id.  I don't answer and immediately a 2nd call comes in from the same area code that my cell phone is listed in.  Message "Good Afternoon this is Michael Simpson from ....Financial Group this is the 3rd message I'm leaving regarding the claim that "Internet Networks" has against.....please return my call to address this at 732-679-0042 extension 219 thank you..."

caller claiming we owe on past due invoice, but won't provide any supporting documents. Told them to call my boss, and I gave them the AG phone number!

This guy calls demanding a person in accounts payable.  He claims he is not getting any where.  I ask him for a P.O. number and he says he does not have the payments in front of him.   I said well go to our Web page.  He threatens me saying his attorneys will be contacting us.  What a liar..
