I just got two calls,from that number,if I don't recognize or there's no name I don't answer,figure they can leave a message,if not then they're up to no good.

They called today while I was gone, no message left. What good is the do not call list when they still call?
Have no idea who they are or what they want.

The number is from one of those companies that spread fear and panic among the elderly.
They pose as doing the public a favor, but they are truly a public nuisance. The company is pitching ' free' emergency response alarms or something to that nature to the old and lonely.  Report them to the Do Not Call Registry, and also, if you have a chance to answer the call, give 'em a piece if your mind!

phone rang...was sleeping and did not answer.  no message left on voice mail.  i am on the DO NOT CALL LIST...why do i get these type of calls?

They have called several times and didn't leave a message on the answering service.  I do not answer calls that have no indication information and that I do not recognize on my caller id.  I have relatives that use cell phones that have unavaiable numbers and I know  their numbers but I have had alot of businesses that call and just hang up and put on an menu.

I get calls from this number even though I am on the do not call list.  Why have a list if calls still come.  It is annoying.

I get this call 2 to 3 times a day, Iam also on the do not call list, which doesn't mean much for skammers.

You people keep saying you don’t understand why you keep getting these call because you are on the “do not call list.”  The do not call list does NOT stop anyone from calling you.  The list is really a joke.  If you go to the government website to report the call they tell you they will not do anything about it, they just put the information in a database.  The database is there for your lawyer to use when you decide to sue.  All it does is show how many complaints there are for that caller.  It’s up to you to sue to get them to stop and no one I know has that kind of money.

Because it is just a  "LIST!"   nothing more.

They called my elderly mom and upset her.  They told her that someone in the family ordered a Medical Alert System for her.  SHe hung up on them and reported it to the local police who put the number on a list.

I also do not answer numbers I do not recognize so I can only state they called and left no message. My personal take on the "Do not call list" is our government is actually selling this list to anyone that wants it. I get more of these calls on my numbers I was stupid enough to register on their scam list.

This solicitor calls me everyday and I want it to stop along with all other solicitations both profit and non-profit.

What I have done and I'm sure it works is this;  when you get a phone call that is a recording, quickly press the pound key # several times in secession.  Supposedly it will disconnect your number from their system.  So far I've been lucky, seems to be working.  We've been doing this for several years besides using the Do Not Call list.  In that list, under comments, I put in there that I've been getting these harassing calls and if they are not doing their job taking care of this then they shouldn't be in that job.  Period!

They just called here and started leaving a message "John, from the shipping department of medical alert, calling to schedule deliver of your medical alert device".  I picked up and hung up.  SCAM!

It's one of those medical alert things. They say if you press a certain number you'll be removed from their list (if you wait through the whole stupid recording long enough to hear that), but I've tried that once or twice and either they're lying or they have multiple lists because I keep getting the calls. I hate these stupid calls, I wish they'd go away and leave me alone. My phone is here for MY convenience, not theirs.

Your "personal take" doesn't acknowledge the fact that these scam calls are placed by a computer-based dialing system that calls numbers sequentially. The computer doesn't know or care whether or not any particular number is on the do not call list.

Received a voicemail from this number today saying they wanted to deliver an emergency medical alert system that somebody had ordered and paid for. I knew it was a scam because (1) I already have a medical alert system and (2) a friend in Illinois was taken in by a similar call this week.

I have got several phone calls froma "John Anthony" allegedly from "Intinsic Financial"(representing a payday loan co. I filed in a bankruptcy in 2011) claiming I owe $700.00 the amt of the payday loan. I told him it was discharged in Bankruptcy in 2011, that "didnt matter to him, as I still owe the money to Intrinsic Financial."The incoming phone number on my caller id is 734 794 3078, "John" gave me a callback number of 855 504 4116 ext 7004. I called the incoming phone number 3078 and it will not connect computer message says "call did not go thru try again message 033T" forcing me to use the 855 number only to return calls,seems fishy to me best I can do to locate the business is Ann Arbor MI. As the other posts indicate that when they do call they will not leave a message,told them to talk to my atty ,that doesnt work either they still continue to call , does anyone have ant suggestions or experience anything similar?? I also am on the Do Not Call List and that doesnt seem to have any effect. Any help/suggestion/similar experiences from anyone??

You might be able to get your Bankruptcy Court to hold the caller in contempt of court under the proper circumstances, for violating the automatic stay.  See:

You must already have an attorney if you filed for bankruptcy -- why not ask him?  Some of the other laws that might have been broken in this case could get you punitive damages and attorney's fees, so if you might have a good case, he might take it at no cost -- up front or otherwise -- to you.

This phone call has annoyed us twice this week.  We did not order a "system" for accidents due to falling. We want this number to quit calling~!  We are on DO NOT CALL LIST!!
They claim that it has "already been paid for" and "shipping has been paid for"....
We did not order it.  We do not want it.  We can't get rid of the phone calls!!
