my anonymous callback yielded a "hello", upon my question "this number just called me, who is this?", answerer stated "Virginia deputy sheriffs".

Not the first call I've gotten from Chesapeake.  Must be Mad Cow season down there.  Called me at 1057 AM, no message.  So tired of this.  Over 90% of my calls are from these harassers.  Hoping for improvements after January.

The old "This is Microsoft, let me access your computer please" scam.  Don't even think about it!

There are a lot of misguided people living in Virginia Beach. This is just one of them and many more!!   Or should I say scammers!  It's the meca of scammers behind Buffalo, NY.  Any legit caller would have the correct caller ID identifying the caller.  Anyone can call and dial for dollars claiming to be from where ever!  Unless you placed the call, you can bet your last bottom dollar it's a scammer calling to lighten up your wallet of your hard earned money!    B L O C K E D

Your number and the number they call from are all bought on the black market!  The phone company has no interest in stopping these bottom feeders.  Most use VOIP, which is very cheap to operate and easily moved from one location to another.  Any money taken in is pure profit.  Use a call blocker, works great!

Thanx, but most posters say that it's just robocalls, calling everyone in turn.  But yes, probably using VOIP, and nobody cares about stopping them.

Called me again, this time twice, at 734 PM yesterday and 328 PM today.  No message either time.  Huge PIA (pain in the neck).
