I also got emails listing this number.  Glad I took the time to search it.  Seemed suspicious from the start.  Also contacted me via WeddingWire.  I just sent WeddingWire support the emails he sent me and a link to this page in case they are able to see which other vendors he's contacted by his phone and emails.

Here's the email you'll get next, if you reply to that one. This one ignored all my follow up questions and was worded so oddly I started to suspect it was a robot/chatbot program. Or a scam. I was hoping it would be a robot...

In the middle of scam now- he calls himself Fred Cole. Says fiancee's name is Sharon Williams. Is using location of wedding at a Bennington, VT apartment that is for rent. Yes , he says his company will send a check. Probably so he can ask me for my S.S. - which I would never be stupid enough to give. Always act on your suspicions. He should be caught and prosecuted. just email contact so far, but did give me this number (see above)

I received the exact same email correspondence as musician above - from Fred Cole for a wedding March 19, 2016 in South Burlington through weddingwire.com.  The correspondence began Feb 2, 2016. After corresponding through numerous emails, the last email said that his payment for 75% deposit  would come to me as a paycheck from his employer. Then I began making calls.  I spoke with the apartment complex and there is no function room that could hold the 100+ guests he mentioned would be coming. I then spoke with weddingwire and they were incredibly helpful, suggesting that I google the phone number.  I found this conversation!  Thank God.  They are flagging it on their end.

The details he gave me were: "Bride's name: Sharon Williams, Groom's name: Fred Cole, The date is March 19, 2016, Time is 11am - 3pm. Address is 150 Allen Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403. You can contact me on 757-606-8610 while am back in the States, but will always keep in touch with you."

What would this guy gain from this scam?  I guess I didn't get far enough to find out, thank God!!

Apparently, my group is caught up in this too.  Fred says his wedding is on March 5th in Vegas... have signed contract and the same stuff about his work sending a check.  What is his end game???

My group is in the middle of a transaction with this guy... got a signed contract, now he says his work will send the check for more than 75% of the fee and that I should give the rest to the bridal shop.  He actually called me the other day on my cell phone too.  What is his end game???

Oh, and for all to see, here is the latest e-mail I got from him.  I am guessing the next email is going to ask me to front him some money???

"What is his end game???"  The payment will be bogus and you will be out the money you send to his "bridal shop" by untraceable means.  Well known scam.  Why can't he pay the bridal shop himself.  And the "miscarriage" thing is a ploy to get you to feel sorry for him.  Run away as fast as you can from this.

I received that exact email from "Fred Cole" a few days ago regarding a "wedding" in Colorado on March 5 (initial contact came through Wedding Wire). Now tonight, this (I've stopped responding):
I am bothered as I have not heard from you since few days ago.
I have been busy with work and coupled with my fiance's condition, my fiancee is feeling better as day passes by though still in sick bed and thanks for your concern. I am sending you this mail to thank you and I must appreciate you for your concerns and I also want to believe you're enjoying you works thank you so much.
Meanwhile, the date for the event is still intact. All I need from you is your patience and prayers, I will let you know how she is feeling and also, My apologies for the delay in payment, Be expecting the payment this week Saturday or latest Monday.

I got that one two days ago.  I haven't let him know that I know he is a scammer.  Talking with someone in the know about these things to see what I should do if a check does come... of course that would not include cashing it and messing up my account.

Peter Cole just solicited me via Wedding Wire for a wedding to take place on 1/28/2017. Bride is Becky Prado.

He is emailing me, attempting to scam me.   He went as far as filling out a contract, fortunately I have another client that reserved the date in question so I was able to inform him that I cannot help him ;)

I got David Tom from him. His wording and specificity seemed very scammy.

Currently conversing with guy. Seemed scammy from the beginning. Have almost word for word the same email conversation as the ones listed above. "He" contacted me through The Knot. I am contacting the Knot right now to report the profile. He used a different name but same verbiage about being offshore. I felt like something was up with the Knot profile. The location was listed as Lagos, LA. The only Lagos in the world, is in Nigeria.
