Called with a Indian accent stating that our computer has a virus...

Sunday June 11 4 pm
I received a call from "Michael Brown" with a strong East Indian Accent.
He claimed "we" have received about 20 "error" reports from my computer in the past four months.
I told him I haven't sent any error reports.
He then said my computer was infected and if I would go sit in front of it he would lead me through the solution.
I told him I am on dial up, with only one phone line, so couldn't go on line and talk to him. He asked if I couldn't get a cell phone from a friend or neighbour. (He must be pretty desperate.)
I said I didn't know where my neighbours were or if they had a cell I could use. He gave me this 750 number to call when I got a phone. And said it was his number at "Michaels System Tech".

Adam Smith and Michael Brown talked to me from that number.  Has anyone followed their instructions to know the consequences?

This is a scam - do not do anything these people tell you to do.

I received this call also. I told him I could not talk to him and use computer at same time. He wanted my cell number, but I told him I don't give that info. out.

Don't let these folks lead you astray. If you didn't call the computer company, then don't give your info away! NOBODY calls you out of the blue to "fix" your computer. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt, or you'll end up getting scammed.

haha they told me i would have the state police called and i ask what fore he hesitaded then said if i did not know to call there office the problem being he was so stupid he came me the same number he called from. i beeging people not to fall for this scam they are stupid and sick people anyone know if we can report  them for trying to scam or attemped scam?
