I have the same question in the mid Atlantic states area.

Im in New Jersey, received a call to do a focus group for voters. Had an interesting discussion on some local issues and was paid $100 for a 2 hr survey. Found this to be very interesting and engaging.

Robo call from Focus Group.  No specific details of political agenda or focus topic - that is crap.

Here is what I think they are doing, get you to go to some meeting away from your house for $75 and then a group breaks in your house.  That has been happening in this area. So, Be very Careful.

Received Robo call today for focus group about jury duty.  I was only offered $75 for an hour. (not $125 like Columbus, GA)  I feel cheated (haha!)  I cannot figure out the real purpose of the call.  It's got to be some type of scam. If it was a ligitimate call, I think a real person would have come on the line to set up an appointment, etc., or a least to ask if I was interested.  The call was very short and ended very abruptly... no msg to press #'s ...just a quick click ending the call.   Very suspicious.  Another telemarketer I will have to call the FTC to get rid of, I suppose. I'm sick of one after another.  What a way to have to make a living! What PESTS they all are!
