Definitely a scam. It's hard enough for us to raise donations for our local FDs when these people scam people. There is no reason the FCC & phone companies can't stop this - Someone had to list their name to get a phone !!

I called this number back, and an automated recording said that it was some kind of media company...but they also gave me the option to be on their "Do Not Call" list (Press 5), so it probably won't do any good, but at last I tried.

It does a lot of good.  For them that is since they now know that they have a good number with a live person on the other end that will do anything they ask.

These people have been calling for several weeks now, tonight I finally got to answer. They ask for donations to help firefighters, but they aren't near us in West Virginia!! It's so hard for our fire departments to raise funds anyway, and these scammers make it even tougher on us!!

So good to hear only one ring and know my Panasonic call block function is working for us.

Caller ID says Athens GA Picked up phone but no one there.

Asked if I would be willing to make a small donation - seemed to be trying to bait me into saying "yes".

Caller ID was down so I answered and they asked for my husband by name.  I asked them not to call.  The man kept talking through my request.  They have since called again - creeps!

"Athens GA" caller ID, nobody speaks, they hangup when I say "ok, go ahead and trace the call"

Did not answer. Readout says "Fire Association".

Caller ID said: Athens, GA.  No msg left.  I know no one in GA and I have been getting weird calls from Florida, Georgia , North Carolina, ETC.!!!  Getting mighty OLD.!!!

They continue to call me and I am tired of them repeatedly calling.
