I got a call today giving me a verification code of something.

I got one too. I think this is what the Whatsapp company. It means that someone somewhere is trying to verify their phone number during signup to Whatsapp, but they've entered their phone number incorrectly. Instead, they have entered yours.

So do i need this code sometime soon???

Im really enoyed by this. They keep calling and texting me at night because we're on a different time schedule here in norway. I havent figured out how to  make them stop.

11 (eleven!) calls from 04:30 to 07:45, so I have set my mobile to blacklist the number. A friend sent me pics from her iPhone which I couldn't open because I don't have a cross-platform app. Either, she registered my number without my consent (she promises me that she did not) or, my failed attempt to open the images somehow prompted the app. I received a text yesterday containing a code for WhatsApp and a link to tap in order to verify my device. I did nothing. This morning I had the 11 calls, two from 'Minisota' and nine from 'Unknown', but all from the same number and conclude that the calls are to verify that the device is mine. I do not want this app and so will leave my phone to block the number via its blacklist. This facility is provided by the Comodo Mobile Security for Android app which handles unwanted calls brilliantly; this can be reversed if you choose to accept the call in the future.

Had this number call me twice now in the space of two hours giving me a verification code via voicemail when I do not answer! I have also had an attempted hacking of my Facebook this morning by someone in OK, USA - Facebook noticed it to be an unknown location for me and blocked the attempt. Be aware of a potential hack occurring for anyone in this situation - it is in my case.

I was called and after that I get an verification code for Whatsapp.

I received three calls consecutively from this number starting from 4.31 am, Malaysian time, on 6 February 2016. I ignored the first two but answered the third believing it could be an urgent call from a close friend or relative in the US. An answering device said something like this " .... your code is ..... Over" and I terminated the call immediately. The chances that security of my iPhone had been breached cannot be discounted; so I called my service provider who advised me to wait for my next bill and if there is a charge, it will address the issue. I felt uneasy with the advice given by my service provider; so I googled this number and was relieved to learn from various commentators that the culprit was WhatsApp. Now I don't have to wait for my next bill with anxiety.

received a VM at work. I assume the language was Arabic, but I can't tell for sure. It was a recording that seemed to repeat. Wasn't able to get translate to figure it out. Very strange.

I just got 2 calls in the space of 5 minutes and it was from WhatsApp. I think scammers use this application a lots. I'm going to try and block the number.

I think it's a scam.

What is it?  No knowledge of any number like it, something about 973 dollars. And an SMS?
