- georgeThis is very likely a criminal scam because: They call numbers on the do not call list. They do not leave a message on the answering machine, Google cannot find a commercial company with this number.
- Jim HarteThe caller first ask to speak with Mrs Harte, when I advised that there was no Mrs Harte, the caller ask for me, I advised that I was unavailable. I asked if there was a message and caller advised that he would call back.
- Caller: Would not tell me
- BobThis number has called ours about half-a-dozen times. Our caller ID displays "TRI" along with the number in question. Whenever there is a number or "caller ID" that we do not recognize we shout out: "Let the machine get it..." This practice was for our children to learn not to answer any number they do not know when they are home alone. George is correct; they do not leave a message. The last time they called, I answered speaking Spanish "Hola, Buenos Tardes..." Then a woman asked to speak to Mr. A----- pronouncing one of the letters that our long distance provider heard wrong, published, did not correct after we tried and is consistently printed wrong on our monthly bill. I replied "?habla Espanol?" She said "No" and hung up. I believe that our LDP may be selling their information or she simply found it on-line because it is published in our local white pages.

They asked for a first name and would not state who they were or with. Very rude. They hung up when asked who they were with. Called the number back and selected the option to be on the DO NOT CALL list.- Caller: TRI
- jon smith (Yes, its real)| 2 repliesI got a call from this number, caller ID showed: "TRI" - I did not answer, but I did call it back that night (11:30 PM). It went to a recording that stated:"You have reached TRI Marketing, sorry we have missed your call. If you wish to be placed on our do not call list, press #1." I did. They repeated my number back to me and said it would be added to THEIR DNC list. It seemed on the up-n-up, they offered to put number on a Do not Call list, now lets see if they honor it.
NOTE: DO NOT GET YOUR PHONE SERVICE FROM COMCAST CABLE, These [***] take the phone numbers they give to their customers and place them on a List that they in turn SALE TO TELEMARKETERS, My Mums Verizon number GETS NO Or hardly any telemarketers... AS SOON AS I PLUGGED MY COMCAST PHONE IN, BOOM !!! Damn Telemarketers - EVERY DAY early am until 11 PM - Anywhere from 3 to 8 per day, Every day....All cause poor ole Comcast just doesn't quite make enough money to pay all their bills and the poor [***] need to nickel and dime a few more cents to their bottom line by letting me be annoyed to hell and back. If anyone knows the phone number of the CEO of Comcast or ANY of their upper management phone numbers, can we please make a list of these numbers and put them out o nthe internet so these guys can have all the Wonderful opportunities presented to them that their greed has presented to us. - George Junge| 1 replyThe reason i'm taking the time to do this, is because i have always hung up on insurance people. I have been with my agent for many years and thought he was giving me the best rate, turns out he has been bending me over a barrell with no lube. He said almost every insurance agent in America is doing the same thing.
And of course they called me too! But once I actually gave the guy the time of day, he was actually a pretty nice guy. I gave him some basic info, the most personal was my birthday, (which by the way, is completely useless in the identity theft world. I work in law enforcement and if someone only needed a birthday to steal your identity they'd work at a bar or gas station, not a telemarketer.) so I took exactly 2 min 4 seconds out of my day and received a free no strings attached quote and it was actually a lot lower than my current rates! I didn't switch though, I ended up showing it to my long term insurance agent and he actually matched the price! I saved $982 a year from that 1 min phone call. And guess what?! DIDNT HEAR FROM THEM EVER AGAIN.
I just want to thank this company for opening my eyes because i was blind until i decided to just check to make sure I'm not getting overcharged.- Caller: TRI / Allstate

Just called now. No message or anything. The ID shows as "Tri". Google search turned up only complaints boards such as this one.
Oh well, call block gets a new number added. - Joe R replies to jon smith (Yes, its real)I used to have numbers for Comcast, but after we ditched them, I lost track of where they are. It did not make much of a difference then anyway. Comcast is like an internet troll - the best defense is to walk away.
Get a programmable call blocker and learn how to use it (there is a bit of a learning curve). Once I put this on our phone, it changed our days. No longer did we have a constant barrage of telephone calls. Instead, we can pick and choose who gets through. We can even block entire groups of numbers including the entire area code, the AC & prefix or the first X amount of digits in the number. While there is a limit to blocked numbers (70), it is still better than what the phone company gives you.
Our unit was a bit pricey, but worth it. There are cheaper units that do more or less the same thing. At the time we bought this one, it had the best features for the cost.
