"American Children's Cancer Society," MOST LIKELY the re-making of a fraudulent organization announced as charged by the FTC and 58 law enforcement partners as shams (charitynavigator.org). Unfortunately they called before 9am, the recorded announcement cut off so I called back I got to hear the whole announcement and hit "1" to be put on their DNC list. I made this notation when I reported the number to the DNC list but I'm also going to see if I can alert the FTC directly.

A similarly-named organization, The National Children's Cancer Society, is legitimate but probably has lost donations given to the fraudulent groups.

this number has called using different reasons to scam money from you.   The latest being burial plans.  Don't answer. Don't give them any money.   If any "company" cold calls you to sell you something or collect for a charity, DON'T GIVE TO THEM OR BUY FROM THEM.  They are probably a scam.   You initiate the giving to a  charity to a reputable charity.   Also only buy from a company you know about and you initiate.

Lady named Linda Hill said she was selling life insurance/burial plans. I pointed out I'm on the Do Not Call registry. She said she's adding my number to our no call list and hung up.

Called at 4:52pm. Diverted by a service I subscribe to that intercepts robo-dialed calls (rhymes with SoNoHobo).  I called back (*67) and got a recorded message saying they had been calling for Medicare benefits and iinstructions to be placed on their DNC list. My previous post from August, above, indicates that I found them to be a questionable charity for children with cancer; so, obviously this is a number used by different scammers at different times.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  Did not recognize the number and stopped ringing before I could get to answer.  I always google the numbers not familiar with and saw the comments.  I encourage everyone to google the number before calling back.  Did not leave a message, just showed the number that called.  Definitely a scam.

Our answering machine received the call.  No message was left.
