This is a microsoft scam. I've recently been in contact with both Microsoft and Dell after buying a new computer.  Since then I've been barraged with calls from so-called microsoft and dell tech support; you're computer has been infected yadayada. Microsoft has NO affiliates period.  Neither Microsoft nor Dell will EVER call you with security warnings about your computer.  This guys a crook and should be jailed.

Called my cell phone and hung up, not sure how many times, and when I called to find out who was calling,  I got a prepared sales pitch for home improvement work. Said he could NOT put me on his do not call list unless I gave him my information.  Said it was "not illegal" for him to call me and would put me on HIS do not call list if I gave him the information, or he would continue to call my number.  Does not obey the National or State DNC list.
By Law he is required to obey the Federal and State No not Call list and not require anyone to give personal information to prevent calls.
 So may be gathering information to sell to telemarketers and ignoring the DNC list required by law.
 Report all these Con artist!  This one calls repeatedly until you call HIM and tries to avoid the National DNC list by claiming you called HIM.

Called back after hours and got his name on the AS as Fred McGuffy!  Smooth talking con Artist  that tried to convince me he could call and add me to HIS do not call list and the calls were not illegal since  I called him!
So his strategy ?  Call multiple times until somebody calls him, to be sure it was not a real call, make a sales pitch and avoid being interrupted,  Then get your personal information to make him Stop calling you.  Claimed it was legal since I called him.

Will the FTC ever stop these scammers?
Gonna Block this one with Truecaller on my Cell phone!  AT&T won't stop this BS,
 Back in the old days they took responsibility for protecting customers,  Today they profit off customers being abused !
 Make the phone carriers do their job at THEIR expense, 30 days, or reduce bill rates 10% per month until Compliant with a new federal law!!  Consider it a fine if they don't comply!  They will not do anything unless forced to by law or cutting profits with fines.
They have made money off of not blocking telemarketers way too long, and charging customers for blocking features. Either way they have made money off of customers with these scams.

Allow them NO profit off them being forced to do the right thing.  It's like organized crime to not protect consumers, and it can't work without the phone carriers assisting the criminals to start with. They caused these crimes by ignoring responsibilities.
