Man with a nasally sounding accent called for my VP of Sales... 6 months after he passed away... jeesh. #annoyed #updateyourdamnlist #dontcallback

Same man just called my business asking for someone by a first name only. When it just happened to be my first name, I said 'this is her' and he seemed so surprised, then added add the last name, "smith" to it. which is not my last name. and he stammered and said he had a wrong number and hung up. Not sure what the reason for the call was.

Not sure what is going on in 2018 but I get about 12 of these calls to my office per day.  They ask for some random person that's not here and then confirm the business name and hang up.  Yesterday I asked a lady how she got my number and she said she could not disclose.  My only guess is that they're calling for no other reason than to verify the company name.  I'm going to start doing as the lady did above and say it's me and just start messing with them...  Why not?  They're okay wasting my time so now I will waste theirs.

Man just called. Did not identify himself. Asked for my first name. I confirmed. He then said he was looking for my first name and wrong last name. I said that’s not me and he apologized that he had wrong number.

Got the same call today.  Asked to speak to a person with the same first name as me.  I may have said, "Yes, this is ___." Then he said, "I was looking for ____ smith.  I think I got the wrong number."  I think they might use the "yes" part as a recording to scam me later to say I agreed to some phonebook or other service.  Wished I had thought this through at the moment. I'll answer "This is him" from now on.

Don't worry about having said "yes". That whole thing was an unsubstantiated rumor with no documented proof of anyone actually being harmed by simply saying the word yes.
