Call Display says "Unknown Name', no message was left.

Again today - mid-afternoon when I'm at work.  Display says 'Unknown Name' and no message was left.  I don't know anyone in this area code.

Canada 411 Reverse Lookup did not match this number with either a Person or a Business.  Using a Search Engine for this number only finds this website.  So its either a temporary rented number; a spoofed number; or someone's cell phone (which I doubt, since it would be long distance).  I don't think its a legit charity, since even if they used a 3rd party service - you'd be able to call back the number and get a response.  *69 only gives you the option to try dialing it, or hanging up.  

I'm not calling any bloody long distance number, just to see if its real or not.

they said my name. and said I did a donation and thanked me. and wanted to talk with me about someting. I said I am kind of busy.

Called again today - again Call Display says "Unknown Name" and no message was left.  Considering I got THREE other scam attempt calls today, I'm reporting it to the RCMP anti-fraud unit at info@antifraud.ca.

Another call today - no message left.  Other posters - could it be "The Broadbent Institute"?  Named for the former Canadian NDP Party Leader, Ed Broadbent.  Last year, people who wanted to make a donation In Memory of the Late Jack Layton, who brought the NDP to be the official opposition party in the last Federal election - were asked to direct contributions to The Broadbent Institute - a non-profit policy think-tank.  Which also means they are exempt under the CRTC Do Not Call Registry.

I specifically on my donation in memory of Jack, to 'not solicit further'.  I just got a fundraising request by regular mail; ad I'll be real ticked if this is who it is who keeps phoning!

Phone again today.  Have already send an email directly to The Broadbent Institute coordinator last week, asking if they are making/have hired a Telemarketer to make this calls - as the current strategy is annoying and not effective.  No response yet.  I was busy in the middle of something, so when I saw 'Unknown Name' as the caller and realized it was a robo-dialer, I immediately hung up (since those are usually scammers).
