Caller says he's with some auto finance company but never gives his name or company name, SCAM

I've gotten 8 calls from this number on my cell phone in the last 24 hrs.

Continues to call. Have called 3x today so far. Called a bunch all this week. They are calls from a cell phone. Smh

Do not call me anymore with this foolishness!!!! How did you get my number?

I have no idea how this person knew my name but he goes into a sales pitch, "Congratulations, your application for an auto loan has been approved."  At this point I stop him and tell him that I did not apply for an auto loan, but since you are on the line, what are your interest rates.  His tells me that it is 3.3.  Know this is a SCAM, I let him continue.  "I have your address as.....................,(He has my correct address).  "I need you to verify your date of birth?"  At this point I can tell he is trying to get me give him my personal information, so I ask him what date does he have.  He can't tell me and keep asking me to verify it.SCAMMMMMMMM!

I left a post on October 22,2014, about this caller telling me that I had been my application for an Auto Loan had been approved, which I had not applied for.  I wanted to give additional information on this scam. The caller obviously has your name and address and will be using the age old scam of asking you to verify your personal information(Date of Birth, Social Security #, Drivers License #,etc.).  He does not have but will give you the impression that he does.  This is called "fishing for personal information" which is the tools that scammers use to get your personal information.  When requested that he give me the information that he is showing so I can verify that this is legitimate, he because defensive and said, "You are not interested in completing this application!"  As I had not applied for a loan, this in addition to his fishing was a Red Flag that a scam was taking place.  He did not give the name of his company.  Beware of this crook.

Repeated call with no one on the line. I called the number back and it is an auto financing company as others have stated. Selling lists is a big business and this is one case. Just block the number. If you recall the number it is a recording to press 2 to be removed from their list (hopefully)

< Answer: You did on a website a few months back. I assure you we are not those kind of people. I need you to verify     --     your SSN so I know I am speaking with the right person. It is for your own personal security and protection.
> I say: It is for my own personal security and protection that I refuse to give my SSN over the Phone. Y dont you give me your name DOB and SSN so I can verify whom I am speaking with?
