    Unbelievable
Received calls from 800-208-2500 with message as "Please hold, representative will contact you shortly..". Then, somebody speak in the phone, I ask who are you? what's your call back number? Why you keep call my number, bother me? In the beginning, I wasn't given their number. Again and again, someone did give me their number as (800)208-2500. How to report/stop the unwanted call?

I received a call from these people yesterday. It's obviously a scam. I'm on some sort of list for all these scams. They call for all sorts of things and from several different numbers. I don't know what this one was about because I didn't answer the phone, but in the past they have called me and stated that they can extend the warranty on my car, lower my credit card interest, have asked for donations for the police, cancer patients, and fire fighters. I think I get a call at least once a day despite the fact that I'm a DO NOT CALL LIST!

Fingerhut prerecorded message on how to get their catalog. I reported them to the FCC on the donotcall.org website, because I am on the do not call list and have never and will never buy their junk.

This is Fingerhut's offical customer service number.

Call it back and navigate your way to a rep.

It took a while for them to figure out how to do it but tell them to remove your phone number from their calling list.

If some of you would take the time to read (and spell, for that matter), you'll see that any order made from Fingerhut implies your permission for them to contact you at any time and for any reason. Either call them to tell them you want to opt-out of that *very common* marketing process, or don't do business with them. The Do Not Call list only applies to unsolicited telephone calls, and initiating a business relationship with any conpany nowadays that extends any kind of credit to you is providing permission for solicited communication (in other words, you can't complain and you can't sue). I appreciate this web site for the information it provides, but sheesh....read the fine print.

They called me today in the span of about 2 hours.  According to my Caller ID, they called at: 11:46a, 12:02p, 12:19p, 12:35p, 12:58p, and at 1:17p.  So yes, I can complain and yes I can sue by means of harassment.  Yes, I've told them on multiple occasions to cease the phone calls and to leave us alone, but they don't seem to know what that means as the rep I end up speaking with is over in India who, for some reason, isn't able to connect me with someone in the United States...

And as I type this, I just received a 7th phone call from them 1:51pm.  *sigh*

Time to make some phone calls.

Actually, that's not entirely correct.   A new law was passed, sometime in the last two or three years, that states that if you are speaking with a customer service company, and they are not from the continental US, you can ask to speak with an American representative, and they have to transfer you to one.  That doesn't mean that they will, but that is the way the law reads.  Also, the previous poster is correct.  If you have ever done business with a company, you have given consent for them to contact you.  There is nothing you can do about it.  However, it does, in fact, become harrassment if you have ordered them to cease contact with you.

Many times this is fingerhut calling to inform you you have recieved a 20 dollar gift certificate, or to inform you your credit level has gone up, thats what happened when i answered, so it is not due to being late.

I have never done business with Fingerhut, so why am I getting called by them nearly every day? I tried calling back to opt out, but they ask for personal info before you can proceed, and from what someone else on here said, it takes a bit of wrangling to actually get them to scratch you off the list.
Regardless of whether you're on a do-not-call list, the basic rule should be: Opting out of frequent robo-calling by the same "conpany" should be quick, simple, and (preferably) automated. If I have to take more than 2 minutes out of my day to do it, "they" win, as far as I'm concerned.
