Did they say you had won a lot of money? From Las Vegas, Megabucks Mega Millions, through Publisher's Clearing House, or Readers Digest, etc? What did you do?

These scum bags keep calling my 90 year old mother and trying to get her to send them money, by telling her that she has won some great prize.  My mom might be 90, but she's not stupid.  She has asked them not to call, but they continue.  It's a shame that these predators are allowed to prey on our older citizens, but there doesn't seem that there is much anyone can do about it.  

Of course, if I ever find the guy who told my mom that he would burn her house down because she made him look like an idiot by telling him that if he showed up at her house with a certified check for $100,000 she would tell him anything he wanted to know, he will wish he had never called her in the first place.  The calls originate from Jamaica:  its a small island -- how hard could it be to find these people?

They got my elderly mom also for a lot of money.  Told her she won Megabucks lottery.  I haven't figured out if my mom will loose her house from all the debt they put her in.  Cops say not much they can do.  Wire transfers are hard to trace.

I have read in other places if you call the number you phone gets charge a huge amount of money, so don't call to check on the number.  I would love to meet these guys.  Apparently this has been going on for over 2 years so watch out for your elder parents.  These guys are one step above a pedifile!
