Scam about $100 Walmart gift card - all they need is the $4.95 processing fee from my credit card.

Received a letter from BENEFITS SUSPENSION UNIT LOS ANGELES COUNTY PUBLIC JUDGEMENT RECORDS by J.S. Brown, 1-800-215-3854 stating that I have a lien filing amount of $76,000 due. Yeah, right. I can't believe they scam like this!

"This notice has been issued against the debtor (your name), because of a lien filing due to the tax liability that has not been paid. This letter serves as a final judgmental notice.
The Federal Tax Authorities can now take enforcement action such as seizing Social Security benefits and garnishing wages and bank accounts to satisfy the outstanding debt owed. If no action is taken by 4/4/2024 The Federal Tax Authorities may permanently revoke benefits, suspend licenses, and levy any federal tax refund gained this year.

Your debt must be resolved in full to remove the lein. To avoid enforcement, CALL 800-215-3854 within fifteen days (15) of receiving this notice"

Oh my god! Only 15 days to call? Oh noes! Whatever shall I do? I need to call my Mom, my Dad, My grandpa, because I'm gonna be homeless after paying $76,000 to a non-American person trying to steal and scam Americans. What a NutherTucker.

Interesting how you got a letter but you didn't put the address where it came from in your post.  Why?

Provided you are not one of those people who does not care if other people get scammed, Monday morning your will take the letter and the envelope it came in to your local Post Office and tell the clerk there that it needs to be given to the Postal Inspector for investigation of mail fraud.  The Postal Inspection Service has the power (and the duty) to shutdown scammers like this.

I received this same letter from Passaic County Benefits Suspension Unit and the same contact J.S. Brown at the phone 800-215-3854.  I am glad that I checked on line before making a phone call and opened a door to trouble.

I just got the same exact letter in the mail yesterday, same number,  I’m in GA

I got the same letter today but it was from Benefits Suspension Unit, Broward County, Public Judgment Records.  It had the same narrative as yours.  And there is no return mailing address on the letter. It is a SCAM!  Issuer:  J.S.Brown  (800) 215-3854

Letter from Tax Processing Unit, Orange County. (no address listed at all) Call this number: 1-800-215-3854 - YOUR PROPERTY WILL BE SEIZED - FINAL DEMAND FOR PAYMENT FOR NONPAYMENT OF TAXES... $24,009.00  Again, NO ADDRESS, NO WEBSITE, same scam phone number listed here.

I have a similar letter - one clue that it was spam is that there IS no return address, only an 800 number I must call.
