This number just called and bypassed our automated attendant i was already suspicious as it was an 800 number and CID said "800 Service". i answered when the back up call came in, he asked for X employee i said one moment please and placed them on hold to see if he would drop the call.. sure enough in under a minute he hung up. definitely a spam call. Should he call back i will definitely ask for additional information.

This number called again and bypassed the automated attendant. I answered the call and the person on the like asked for the engineering department. When I asked "May I ask who is calling please?" he stated "Mike with Digital Engineering". I placed him on hold again and he hung up after about 30 seconds to a minute. I believe Digital Engineering is a free mag subscription.

The caller ID came up with Toll Free Number. It seems like they are a group that sends free magazine subscriptions on behalf of various magazines. (They didn't give me their specific name only the magazine they were calling for.) Our store apparently already had one and they were calling to renew. The person they told me the original subscription was under wasn't one I recognized but we do get the magazine they mentioned. They only asked for information available to the public. This particular call wasn't really spam considering they had a legitimate reason to call, but if you don't get free magazines already it would certainly qualify as spam.

Caller ID showed this number as ACCARE. They were calling to see if we wished to continue receiving free trade magazine. They confirmed the address on file and that was it.

Number comes up as ACCARE - Woman on the line knew what she was doing when she called our car dealership - Throws you off by asking "is this the accounting dept?" instead of asking for mgmt. It prompted me to say "yes" when I normally would not have. She said was updating our records for a free subscription which I doubt. She's definitely a sales person and will not take no for an answer.

A woman called claiming she wanted to renew a free subscription of a magazine for my office. She was very pushy, yet condescending. I told her I wasn't interested in the magazine but she still said she would "call back later".

From the looks of the comments above, this is another trade publication's telemarketing service calling to get their free magazine subscription renewed. Yes, the magazines are free, but the catch is becoming part of their "demographically identified" database and having your contact info included in list rentals and marketing e-blasts. It's worth it to some, but a big PITA to others.

this is a scam, I received a call from 800-215-4693. The agent claimed to be on a recorded line and requested verification of sensitive information, wanting to speak to the owner. I informed the agent that we do not provide sensitive information over unidentified recorded lines. The agent became very upset and hung up.

First question was, "Is this (my name)?", which triggered scam alarms immediately. Hung up before they could get a voice signature or any recorded responses other than my initial answer.
