I received a voicemail on my Google Voice number (which is NOT linked to ANY accounts) from Thomas at "Cardmember Services" regarding an interest rate reduction on my credit card. My credit card has no annual fees, so there's no interest. This is definitely a scam to harvest your information, as the voicemail did NOT mention a specific type of credit card (just "Cardmember Services"), and the voicemail came from a local phone number, but gave a different number to call back. Do NOT call this number back if you receive a voicemail from them!

Received a voicemail from "Thomas" in "Cardmember Services" offering to reduce the interest rate on my account because of my "recent payment activity". Yeah, it's definitely a scam.

"Hello, this is Marilyn calling from the Underwriting Department regarding your Capital One Credit Card account. Based on your recent payment activity and balance, you may be eligible for an interest rate reduction as low as 1.9%. There is additional information I need to confirm your eligibility, so please return my call directly in the Underwriting Department to 1-800-221-7009. Once again, 1-800-221-7009. This will be the only notice you receive and this offer is only valid for three business days. Thank you."

The number this called is not tied to any credit card account. This is a scam.

Was given this number in a voice mail. Contacted, as above stated, in re; Cap 1 card. Said they were contracted w/Cap 1. Also said they were Meredian.com as well. I go....what purpose would Cap 1 have to lower my rates to 1.5%? It is counter to the business model. Working on contacting Cap 1 to get this validated. If they do not have a contract, this will get to the Florida AG office as fraudulent telemarketing.

I received a total of 10 calls one right after the other from this number. The number is blocked as a scam call by my phone carrier. The persistence of this caller is unbelievable. Definitely a robocaller calling random numbers.
