- Laura replies to mrI just got a call from that number today and they finally talked to me when I answered the phone. It's Scholastics!!! They keep hounding me to buy more books from them.
- Laura replies to dle| 1 replyI just got a call from them, it's Scholastics. They have been hounding me too, they want me to buy more books.
- dle replies to LauraIts definately NOT Scholastic. I also got the call "claiming" to be Scholastic and even KNEW my daughter's name. I did tell them to take me off their mailing list (we'll see how that goes). As soon as I got off the phone, I tried calling the number back and was disconnected. I looked up Scholastic's number online and it is 1-800-SCHOLASTIC. I've ordered through them before (over a year ago) and not once did they hassle me when I canceled.
- TyThey called saying they were Verizon. They called the day before yesterday and no one said anything after I picked up. I don't know if these are scamers or not but I sure as heck wouldn't trust them.
- Caller: "Verizon"

- Annoyed on Long IslandI can't take it anymore. Hang up after hang up. I have stopped answering the phone. Finally dialed *69 to see who it is and got the number. It's 1 800 241 8921. I don't know how to make it stop. Has anyone been successful ? We unfortunately belong to their book club and plan to call and cancel it tomorrow ASAP !
- k replies to jon pI think you Could only talk to them through 12:00 A.M.-4:00P.M.
- Jim CrocePerhaps they have phone numbers of clients to their companies and they are checking to see if their numbers are still valid. First they are way off on the mark since phone numbers change all the time....in other words they need to contact the phone company first to see if their numbers have been changed, and to what, rather than blindly annoy person after person...they shouldnt have to suffer because some jerk has changed their number trying to avoid a bill from them. If this a computer doing this...what for?..and if its off hours then the computer programmer fooked up because it should be programmed not to call people after business hours. Who knows maby I should make offical contact hours, perhaps between 4pm and 5pm , otherwise your calls will be no go's in my world.
- Caller: unknown, really does not matter to most
- CONCERNED CITIZEN!I get the same call as well! Good thing that DO NOT CALL REGISTRY is working so well! Oh wait, it is a Government run program!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SEJ77I work for a telephone company.. and one of our customers just called and said that somebody from 800-241-8921 has been calling her several times per day!! She says that her number is registered with donotcall.gov (this is one of the first questions I ask in a situation like this...) but says that she will call the donotcall registry to verify.. Changing her tele# is not an option- so she is basically stuck, and my hands are tied! I am wondering how well the donotcall registry actually works.. it is very frustrating! I asked her if she had ever ordered books from Scholastic, and she said, "No". She is very annoyed, as am I- the Customer Service Rep who is trying to help her!!! She calls the number that appears on her caller id.. and gets a busy signal, I tried the number too.. same thing, busy signal. And nobody seems to be on the line when she answers these calls!! These people need to be shot- for harrassing people, especially the elderly!!! Truly disgusting!!!
- SuziIt is from 1-800-SCHOLASTIC. They told me it is from their telemarketer group trying to sell me the CareBears club offer. I have not been of SCHOLASTIC for at least 6 months. I called and got my name off their list. It will take 72 hours but at least I do not have to have these annoying calls 5 times a day!!
