The person said she was calling about available Cigna health insurance programs. She said the person could call back and his earliest convenience.

They claimed to be from China and wanted information about my most recent hospital stay. I thought that info was private but the red flag for me was when they didn't have the correct date I was at the hospital. I immediately asked to be taken off their list and not contacted again.

- Up yours scammersCall from 800-244-6224 came in at 8:54PM at NIGHT! RED FLAG!! Caller sounded foreign and call was very staticky. His name was Jowen and he said he was from Cigna Healthcare and asked to verify my name and DOB. I did not provide any info and asked why are you calling me? He said he was as a care associate to offer their services and support from the case management program. I asked for a call back # and he provided 855-569-1933. He asked if he could have a case manager reach out to me. I said why are you calling me at this hour?? Shouldn't you be calling during normal business hours? And hung up. THIS WAS A SCAM AND THEY SPOOFED CIGNA'S PHONE #.

- TwR14The number and the person on the other end were legitimate. It was a return call from Cigna (they left a voice message) with a response to a bill I had inquired about. They had researched the bill and concluded that I was billed by accident by a 3rd party. That makes them very helpful in my book.

- BigA replies to KarenWell, that is what they claim anyway. If you had a "refund" coming then I doubt they would be calling you. They would have simply sent you a check. That story is hard to believe to begin with. A 2 year old refund?
- KLW| 1 replyI received a all from Cigna Home Delivery about a recent prescription I ordered. The recording announced that the call was from Cigna and to press "1" to speak with a representative. A gentleman answered asking me for my DOB. I said I didn't call you. You called me. I don't want to give you any personal information because I don't know who you are or if you are really from Cigna. He gave me a toll free number to call 800-244-6224 to call back. I waited a few minutes and call this number. I got a Cigna Recording asking me to say if I was a member....but something told me this was not legit. I looked up the "Cigna Home Delivery Number" on Cigna's website and call this number instead. When I called this number and spoke with a representative, he said there was not issue with my recent prescription order. That it had been shipped two days ago and would be delivered in another two days. This confirmed my suspicions. This pervious call asking me to all the 800 number was not legit. DON'T give them your personal information. This appears to be a SCAM !

I thought if this is a scam caller, I should let Cigna know what is going on. So I called the Cigna number on the back of my Membership card. I told them of this odd call and asked if this number 800-244-6224 is a real Cigna phone line. After checking into this, the medical representative confirmed that this IS indeed a legit Cigna Phone Line - however, she could not explain why I had been called about my prescription order, as there did not seem to be any issues with this. I was relieved to learn that this number is a Legitimate Cigna Phone Line, as I was concerned that my personal info (cell number, prescription orders, claim info etc.) was "out there" in cyber space without any protection. Thought you should all know of my due diligence research. - redAngel07this was a voicemail 1 minute 11 seconds. A business name was not mentioned. The woman said "Hello (she said my 1st name). My name is Rhonda we spoke yesterday in regards to your claim, date of service February 00 , 2018. The claim is going to be reprocessed however the payment will be going to the provider because you didn't put that the payment should come to you. The only way we can get the payment to come to you is for you to resubmit the claim and put you as the payee with the correct information. I want you to resubmit the claim and i'll have you send it to our claims processors. The fax number is 877-804-1443 Attention: Claims Processors. On a cover sheet put.. Please make payment to "Member" and then include your name, your date of birth and address. If you have any other questions feel free to give me a call. You have a great rest of the afternoon." She did not mention a business name or say her phone number. I did not speak to Rhonda yesterday. I have never spoken to Rhonda or anyone about a claim of any kind. Nothing significant happenedr on that particular date... and if perhaps, I was aware of even the slightest possibility that money was coming my way, I would not forget to mention that the payment should come to me. I have not tried to call the phone number that was on my caller ID (800-244-6224) nor have I checked out the fax number that she left. This has taken too much of my time already but , I suppose I should nvestigate.

- BethThey are spoofing the Cigna phone number. I work for a dental office and they'd been trying to get us to send them money. Cigna Corp. comes up on the caller ID as well as the actual Cigna phone number but it's not them. They find a way to call a member and get information from them with the lure of a refund due to a double charged claim or an inaccurate charge from the provider. They then call the provider saying that they over paid on the patient (some some other such nonsense) and want us to send them the money back. For my clinic, this was for $2,000. They refused to give us any information or send us confirmation of the payment or name of the person we sent in the wrong claim for. Just wanted us to take their word that we owed them $2,000 for this patient and to send it to them. After refusing they finally offered to resubmit the claim but it would cost us $12 for them to do so but if we paid over the phone right then that they could refund us $24 after they processed the claim.
We called the patient they had called in saying we misapplied funds for and she said they had called her and she had given them all her information and that they would contact us and get the $2,000 back for her and send it to her. We advised her to call the number on the back of her card and talk to Cigna directly. She did so and they had no idea what she was talking about. There was no over payment and everything regarding claims that have been made for services for her were closed.
Do NOT give these people any information, call Cigna yourself to double check the accuracy of the information they are giving you. Since they are spoofing Cigna's number, sometimes it might be a legitimate call but there is no way of knowing unless you call Cigna yourself. Be safe!- Caller: "Cigna" Insurance
