This number calls several times a day. Caller ID sometimes pops us as "CenturyLink", sometimes as personal names (Maria, Vanessa, Jorge). Seems strange that it is not consistent.

Called the number back twice, weird intro message identifies them as CenturyLink, but no one answered. Doesn't appear legit to me.

They have been calling for months and usually they hang up.  Now that I have the number blocked, it went right to voice mail and an Indian "Mary" as she claimed was from Century Link talking about some free fiber optic they are going to put in my house.  First I don't live in a house, and 2nd, they have been saying someone will be there this week for the past several months.

Century Link has verified that there is no free upgrade to fiber optic at all and that it would incur an additional charge and that these calls are fraudulent.  The number is also not associated with any Century Link number and Century Link from my knowledge has never outsourced their call centers to India where this was originating.

This is just another one of of the classing Indian criminal organized "call centers" trying to scam you out of money and personal information and is nothing new.

They however, are very persistant and continue to call, but luckily I no longer hear the phone ring, and the only thing they can do is leave their message now on my phone.

    Update:

I actually called CenturyLink direct by their official 1-800 and talked to a technician who did say the information about copper wiring is starting to be replaced in many areas of the country and is in fact happening where I am.  I also found some news articles stating that as well that this was something that was going to happen with the old copper wires.

She told me that yes, the 1-800-257-3500 is their installation/service number they use.  I called it directly myself and the guy on the phone just needed my name and either account or phone number and method of payment I always use and the last months utility bill.  No real personal information was given and he was able to verify me and told me exactly what my current internet speed is (which was correct) and some other things that were correct as well.  He did say they just are sending out techs and would be replacing the services for the same monthly cost and speed would jump up to a new speed (faster than what I have).

I asked him if they were calling people about this from this number and he verified they were doing that.  Either way, it's always best to just call the number directly or go through the official CenturyLink number and then get transfered as numbers can be spoofed easily and there could be actual scams trying to pretend they are from the legit 1-800-257-3500 number,  So not 100% on the actual calls to me, but the one I connnected with I was transfered over from Centrylink to and this was the correct number.

The number appears to be related to CenturyLink fiber, or more accurately, Quantum Fiber.  I received a few calls from this number August 27th, not answering the calls because I didn't recognize the number (as well as lacking caller ID information & no Verified Caller marker on my cell phone), I decided to pick up on the third call today.  The call was about replacing the old copper wires with fiber for internet provided through CenturyLink.

Even after answering the call, I didn't trust the call, citing that I receive a lot of scam calls & wanted to call back the official CenturyLink number to verify that this was a legitimate call before I gave any personal information over an incoming call.  After verifying that this was in fact a legitimate call, I set up the date for them to install fiber at my house & upgrade my internet to a more reliable (and even cheaper) connection (40 mbps download, 3 upload to 500 mbps both ways once installed) and added the number to my contact list on my cellphone.

I had been waiting for this to happen since moving to this neighborhood in 2016, being told that supposedly this new speed was available to me as early as March of 2022 (being told I can now upgrade...2 and a half years late...); funny how this came up directly after I was having a discussion over the phone about switching back to Comcast...
