Received a text from 8002763744 claiming to be Unifin Debt Collection. I don’t owe anyone and when I Google the phone number, I find warnings about the number being a scam. I reported the text as “junk and delete.”

Carriers will not block it since it is a valid text message from a valid company.

Received a text message telling me they’re a debt collector and to either call 800-276-3744 or click on the link they provided - no company name.  I don’t have any debts - don't owe anybody anything. A legitimate company will not “text” with such a vague message. In fact, they won’t text at all. So many scams now.

Everyone else in this thread seems to know that it was Unifin.

Thanks to the last criminal in the oval office debt collectors are now allowed to text or email you.  They must be vague because they don't know who might see the text message.  The CFPB set up guidelines for the text messages.
