- PeterClaimed they were USAA Federal Savings Bank
- AndyYup, it's USAA.
- av| 1 replyperson called and left message saying usaa but does not match usaa contact numbers. did not call back
- LLI called USAA's regular number and 800-292-8811 is a valid number for USAA credit card.
- TonyI called this number. This is a VALID phone number for USAA COLLECTIONS Department.
That's why it is not a "normal" number. - JamesI just received an SMS / Text Message from this number
- brian c replies to avI can also confirm that it's USAA credit card branch calling. To be more careful, if you get such a call, call them back with the 800 number listed on your card.
- zoltanThis is USAA Program Department in Phoenix. Collections/negotiations.
- Gary| 1 replyHave received call the past two nights on my voice mail. The first night I called the number it said to (i.e. 800-292-8811) they said I had missed a payment. Then they appologized and said that I didn't owe them anything. The next night I got the same voicemail and returned the call again. They could not explain why I had been called, noted that their records said that I had also called last night, and that they would take my number out of their system that was making calls.
I too became suspicious. How do I know for sure that 800-292-8811 is a USAA number. - USAA Collections Department replies to GaryThis is the USAA Bank/Credit Card Collections Department. They may not even be trying to get in touch with YOU... They have called ME twice now, trying to get in touch with my EX-husband of 10 years. Since we are both USAA members, our contact information shows up on each others' accounts (nice, huh?). After the second call, I called them back and methodically walked them through annotating HIS file with a DO NOT CALL note for my number and let them in on a little secret: HIS cell phone number!
- aI called USAA and they said this is NOT one of their numbers. Do not give that number any information.
- ZaneJust got two calls in last two hours from this number. Didn't answer either one. No message left after either call. Only by googling the 800 number did I learn of USAA connection.
I did miss last month's payment but just yesterday paid everything in full. USAA is the most incessant, annoying creditor I have ever dealt with - though it's foolish, I know, they make me want to NOT pay them, and I know that I have withheld payment just to annoy them.
The idea that this is the Collections Dept. is offensive. If I'm not even 60 days past due, they should not be calling, period. Ludicrous. - TobyI just got a call from this number and didn't answer it. The caller didn't leave a message either. I know I haven't missed any payments so based on this thread I'm not going to bother calling them back.

- ScammersI called the real USAA Bank and it's not a real number. Have some class people! I
- SuspiciousGot a call, Caller ID'd as "800 Service". Msg said "USAA Credit Card...". In checking this site, it was still not clear. Still sounded suspicious. I called the 800-292-8811 phone and the msg said USAA is closed. Go figure ... why would a closed office call me? Since I am a USAA member, I called the known phone number, checked my credit activity and everything was okay.
Anyone can duplicate the USAA message by recording the legitimate source.- Caller: unknown
- MarieI rec'd numerous calls on my answer machine asking me to call this #-something about the status of my card. I finally called the # on the back of my credit card & USAA said they had no record of calling me & my credit card was fine. Conflicting stories on these posts. They are checking into it.
- Caller: --Federal Savings Bank
- ElfI keep getting calls from this and other numbers that come back to USAA. It is a recording asking for some garbled recorded name then clearly telling to start pressing buttons. I have NEVER done business with these people and I DO NOT owe ANYONE money!!! Anyone know how to get rid of these people??
- Caller: USAA
- Call type: Debt collector
- CieneI have been getting calls from them for years. For the last 7 months it has been a daily occurance. I cannot seem to get it to stop even after signing up with the do not call regestry and making complaints about them to the registry, the FBI and to the Federal Savings Bank. They no longer say USAA in the message they just say Federal Savings Bank Calling about a change in the status of your credit card account and ask me to call back. I am certain it is a scam. I would really like to know how to get them to stop without actually turning my phone off.
- Caller: Federal Savings Bank
