- Call type: Valid
- Gina replies to bwd283| 2 repliesI would imagine this is fraud. It immedietly asks you to dial your visa number which I would not do and do not trust. I would call the 800 downey savings phone number and ask them what this is about. 1-800-9-downey or call your local branch. Downey savings has been experiencing a lot of fraud and it talks about it on their website. www.downeysavings.com
- checkthis number is shown on a "The Veterans Voice of Indiana" invoice.
- Mike| 1 replyAutomated call claiming to be from my bank, mentioned that suspicious activity was detected in my credit card account, then asked me to verify my name, last 4 digits of card, and zip code (may have asked more - I hung up at that point and called my bank). My bank confirmed that there had been suspicious activity on my account but said that the call from 800-294-1855 did NOT come from them, so I suspect that it was the credit card thieves themselves trying to get more information (like my zip) to use my card again.
- PeggyThis is real. It was definitely from my bank. I called them and spoke to them. They had questions about 2 transactions on my Visa card that were legitimate and I am glad they're watching out for me. How unusual...

- Adb replies to MikeNo, this is legit. They're a fraud prevention service that multiple banks use.
- ChrisCall my bank...they verified the number was the automated fraud protection number.... they provided the details.
- BlairThis was truly a call from Wright Patt Credit Union (or a service they use). My daughter has my wife's card going into Canada and they were concerned it is fraud. Glad they called
- Caller: WPCU
- Ty replies to AdbIt really is WPCU number. I am talking to them right now and I would suggest calling them yourself before reacting to this if you are in any doubt.
- J Mantia800-294-1855 is a legitimate phone call from Wright-Patt Credit Union's Fraud Prevention Services. I called WPCU directly using another phone number to ask them about it, and they told me that phone number -- they said the number without me providing it first -- is legitimate. The automated call is generated when your account is triggered for POSSIBLE fraudulent activity on your card, so, in my case, it wasn't; I just happened to buy something overseas for the first time using that debit card. This "unusual" activity -- i.e. something I've never done before with the card -- triggered this call and action.

- DJI received multiple calls from this number claiming fraud activity on my Visa Account. I went to my bank and they confirmed there was nothing showing on my bank account. I would have been. I tidied by email or text messages which I received neither.
