- SusanScam. Pretended to be from Verizon and then hacked my account
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- KenScam. Seems to be spoofing a real Verizon number. They're trying to break into your account by resetting the password and then having you read the text messages with the temporary passwords back to them. I almost fell for it.

- KristinVerizon scam. Sounded like an official tech representative from Verizon. Said that there was suspected fraudulent activity on my account that they wanted to clear it up. Sent me a text with an “authorization code” that I needed to provide. This was actually a temporary pin that they were trying to obtain to gain access to my account! I almost fell for it but hung up and called Verizon directly.

- kkI was trying to set up the internet service for my new apartment. It starts being suspicious when the sales representative didn't offer any internet plan first, he's very vague about Verizon's products, instead he started asking my ID information. After giving him my address, DOB, SSN, etc, he says my SSN is invalid. This is the second time I felt super suspicious, since I have been using my SSN for all my credit check and it goes through. Then I was being transferred to another person for so-called backgroud check. But instead asking me questions as said previously, the second person starts asking me my email address, and confirming with my phone number. Additionally, he has a very strong Indian accent and couldn't hear me clearly if I say my number in a normal speed. So I hang up immediately. Within 10 minutes, they kept calling me, I picked up once. Still the same sales representative (this is stupid) asking me why I rudely hang up the phone call, why I don't want Verizon services anymore. I was 110% sure by then that it's a stupid scam.
- GayleSame experience as described above. Sounded like an official tech representative from Verizon. Said that there was suspected fraudulent activity on my account that they wanted to clear it up. Sent me a text with an “authorization code” that I needed to provide. I didn't realize it, but this was actually a temporary pin that allowed them to change the password to my account. (Note: authorization codes are 6 digits, temporary pin codes are 8 digits.) I was uncomfortable with the call for quite a while before I hung up. He tried to keep me on the line and keep me on the line. When I hung up, I tried to access my account online and couldn't. I called the real Verizon number and he had ordered a device and accessories and set up two more lines on my account with an address in a nearby city. It took about an hour and a half to get charges and lines removed and redo all passwords and pins.

- GOPCReceived call from this number said someone called and tried to add a line to the account. Person proceeded to pay off all the phones with one account. Verizon was called and bank was called too, filed for fraudulent use of the account. Verizon fraud section said if the verizon rep asks for more than your name and the pin that you set up online as part of your security then it is a scam.

- JRDO NOT ANSWER! Identified himself as an employee of Verizon's "Fraud Prevention Department" and told me that someone was purchasing equipment on my account from a different state. Super slick, offered his name and his "badge number" - then told me that I would be receiving a text message with a code and instructed that I read the code to him. I refused and told him that I was uncomfortable and would rather contact Verizon directly myself - that's when he became extremely aggressive, arguing with me that I didn't need to call Verizon.
