received a call to verify a purchase of an iphone 7 for $749.  told to press 1 if not valid.  I did and was disconnected.  Checked my credit cards and no pending activity

I received the same call about a purchase of a cell phone for $749.  He had my name, address, email information claiming that I purchased a phone to be delivered in Pennsylvania for a John Clark. He claimed to be from Amazon Fraud department and the charge was being billed to my Amazon account.  1st of all I don’t have an Amazon account.  This is his 2nd call

Rec’d an 800 number call (1-800-300-8008) was told I had an Amazon Order for $49.00. Told to press 1 to speak to customer representative. I pressed 1 and got disconnected.
Tried calling back but was unable to connect.
Suspicious Scam

We've gotten the same call 4 times this week. It's nerve wracking because no one in my house placed an order. I reported it to Amazon.

I received on of those call today regarding an iPhone 7 for $749.

Caller said 749.00 charged to Amazon acct for an iPhone 10XR and if I did not authorize I was to call a certain number to report it. I just hung up.

Received a call from this # claiming to be from Amazon. Said they needed to verify my order. I was suspicious because last year after Hurricane Florence hit us, my credit card number was stolen from Amazon website & used to buy $4,000 of games & various stuff. I contacted Amazon to verify the call & they told me it is a scam.

Caller ID, "Toll free call".  Message left: "This call is to authorize the payment of $749.00 in $0.10 for your recent order of i Phone X R on Amazon if you have not placed this order please press one to speak to Amazon representative." I immediately called my credit card company.  No activity  has been recorded with Amazon what so ever.  The card company was aware of this outright phishing scam. Don't fall for it.

Received a call from this number supposedly from Amazon. They made the mistake of leaving message on voicemail. Scammers seem to be getting better/smarter about what situations will cause concern. Next call is to report to donotcall.gov.

On August 11 received a call claiming to be Amazon stating I owe $749 for a charge to Amazon said to press one if that was incorrect I did put me on hold and I hung up right away felt like a scam

Amazon collects immediately and does not ship items out if the card is no good.  There would be no way for you to owe them money since they get paid up front.

Had a call today said they was Amazon, wanted to kno if i order the apple 10 phone for 1099.00 , i said "do what" they hung up , i reported to Amazon

I just now received this same call and like others it stated it was Amazon calling about a charge of $749 for a IPhone. I told him that I didn't place the order and he said they would remove it from my account. I felt that it sounded fishy as I don't have an Amazon account. I'm wondering what the purpose of this call would be since they don't ask for any account numbers or credit card numbers which I wouldn't give to them anyways. So why the call? I reported it to Amazon to figure out.

I received the same call about a 749 purchase and also that my amazon acct was hacked.  They wanted my IP number on my computer.  I asked for a call back number- they said 480-500-0355- i checked and that is a scam number with same information

Amazon does not call you unless you ask for a callback.  You should have simply gone directly to Amazon's website and contacted them that way.

I received the same phone call today. I called Amazon and there isn't an order under my account for that item.
