- ChristieCall purporting to be from Amazon re suspicious activity on my Amazon account in several states. One in particular was from TX in the $400+ range. I was told my Amazon account was now frozen due to this suspicious activity. I was told to go to my laptop and enter "www.Amazon.support.com". At that point I realized something was wrong, and I did NOT enter that address, asked for a number at which I could call back and was given the 1-800-300-9009 number. The call did not come in from that number but was made from a local number that turned out to be non-working. Also, I wondered why Amazon simply wouldn't alert me to call my credit card company, rather than resolving suspicious credit card activity through Amazon. This is a SCAM!! At some point in the conversation after asking for a call back number the woman quietly hung up, no "thank you." "goodbye," or "please do check the website address."

- Heather| 1 replyUnfortunately I was googling this number for my adopted 78 year old mother who is now in tears cause she talked to a man from this 1800 300 9008 number! She paid her she thought bill he said she had over due! Wich wasn't odd to her cause she has amazon prime! So now her social security check is gone! Facing eviction!
This happened two weeks ago and I'm just now finding out! So now my fear is my god did she give this man her social security number? She's perinoid to use her phone since he called! Humans are the most evil creatures ever!
Yes this is absolutely a scam!- Caller: 1-800-300-9009

- BigA replies to HeatherHow did she pay him? Did she use a debit or credit card? If so you can dispute the transaction with your bank. This is something that you should already know. I doubt that she is "facing eviction" over one missed rent payment. I doubt that they could legally evict her regardless due to laws put in place because of the virus. You should have been handling her finances if she is not competent as well.
- MCRrecepI actually had to call Amazon logistics to complain about their drivers on this route (can't find our building to deliver business packages, but can find it to delivery all the residents packages which I have to redeliver).......when asked for a number that I can all back they gave me this 800-300-9009 number and when I called the number it is a recorded message about a "special offer".....it never says anything about it being Amazon.

- GwendolynI got a call to my cellphone this morning, ~10:05 AM, on 4/6/23 from someone named “Adam Gray” (likely, false), claiming to be from Amazon Security Dept. He had a very heavy accent, likely from India. He gave me the number to use to verify his identity with Amazon, as AMZ23772174, & gave me the above ph# to call. The number that he was calling from was 1-302-864-3451 (likely spoofed). He said, that someone had bought an Apple iPhone, & the cost totaling ~$1,400. I immediately saw a red flag, as I don't have my cellphone number listed with Amazon. He then wanted to confirm if I had made the purchase, & asked me to verify my postal zip code, & several other personal financial details, such as my banking info, etc. When I remained resistant, he mentioned something about personal privacy, & quoted some law, a transparent attempt to give me the impression that he was legitimate. I wisely declined everything, & told him that I sincerely doubted his authenticity, since, 1. Had no cellphone listed with Amazon; 2. That I hadn't made any purchases within the last 3 months; 3. When I told him that if I did see a purchase on my credit card that I didn't make, or authorize, I would file a dispute & have them do a charge-back. When I told him that, he hurriedly said that this wasn't on my credit card, & had been made through my debit card (which I don't have, let alone don't have listed with Amazon) & then he added, it might have been made through my bank account (also not listed with Amazon). The more he talked, the more convinced I was that this was a scam, &/ a phishing attempt, & I told him so. When it appeared that he wasn't going to succeed, he then tried to use scare tactics, saying that I could either all the number he provided, or “take my chances”. I told him that I'd rather take my chances, since he'd given me several red flags & reasons to sincerely doubt his authenticity. Classic “Amazon Scam”. BEWARE! Never reveal personal info to a random phone caller! Always get the details, & then verify independently, yourself. If possible, call the support number & describe the situation to the legit company dept!

- SCAM ALERTReceived a recorded message telling my order for many apple devices was being delivered to Memphis TN and account would be charged accordingly. Then said if you did not place this order press 1 for fraud. I did and spoke to a man who wanted my name etc. I provided none and asked for a number I could call back to confirm it was Amazon. The 800-300-9009 is what he gave me. Hung up and called Amazon to report it. Knew it was a scam right off as the number the call came in on is not a number associated with my Amazon account. Is the house land line, no account tied to it at all.
