- badgerkat| 1 replyHad rec'd voice mail messages every couple days for this number over the course of last few weeks -- identified themselves as ARS National and ARS National Services. When I returned the call on 06/28 I was told they are a collection agency and were calling re my Citibank Mastercard account because they "have notice it's been flagged, which indicates possible bankruptcy. Have you filed bankruptcy?" I told them I am in the process of doing so and she then just asked for name/phone # of my attorney. The conversation ended once I gave her that info. She was very polite throughout the conversation and in fact had stated they do not operate like the typical collection agency.

- ebword replies to badgerkatDon't buy into the whole "we don't operate like the typical collection agencies" line.
When I got a call, The nice gentleman on the line asked for me or my wife. When I asked who was calling, he stated his first name and "from ARS". I then asked what ARS was, and he replied that "ARS is the company I work for". I again asked (very nicely) "And what is ARS?" This time, instead of giving me the information that ARS is a collection agency, he stated, "I just told you, it is the company that I work for, what part of that don't you understand?" At that point I (again, very nicely) stated that he wasn't a very pleasant person, and bid him a great evening.

- Fed Up replies to BeeberAll I can say is, I'm so glad none of my children work for a collection agency. I'm proud to say they have way too much compassion and intelligence to do the dirty work for such bottom feeding scum bags.
- the wrong personThey are a collection company working for citibank. They found the wrong person. They called and asked me to verify my birthdate before they would continue; I balked and asked them to identify themselves. They gave me their phone number and citibank's number and suggested that I call citi to make sure that ARS is representing them. I searched the web and found what he said was citi's phone number mentioned on a citigroup website, so I did what he said and they are legit.

- Melissa stoneThey told me that we're a debt collector from ARS. They called me from 540-317-1507. I looked this number up that I called it back. They got very up set with me cause I wouldn't give them any information and wanted to know where their homebase was. That I would get up with attorney to pass his information along..telephone number 1-800-317-0469. Both of these phone numbers are cell phones. If this was a bill collector then why are they call me from a cell phone number they told me that this was a local number of the tape you use so the clients did not have to call long distance .
