The heavily accented man said this call was because I have a Windows computer.  I did not understand his thick accent and asked him to repeat.  He said "You have a Windows computer, correct?"  I said "No."  He said, "You don't have a Windows computer?"  I said, "No!"  He hung up.  I have a MAC.  Blocked that number!

Heavily accented man said that he was representing "windows" and said that we might have a virus. He then wanted us to open a program and he would guide us thru fixing it. Too suspicious. We hung up but he called back. We hung up again.

ID said "800 Service" so I did not answer. It's those same clowns running the Windows scam out of India. They obviously don't understand it when I tell them we do NOT have a PC.

Man with the heavy accent said that hackers were trying to use my computer.  I asked him for the IP address of the computer.  He gave me a bogus IP of 192.168.19.61, which was not mine.  He insisted on giving me a "license number" of "888dca60-fc0a-11cf-8f0f-00c04fd7d062," which is not only NOT my license number, but it is a classic and famous SCAM.  It was even featured on Ars Technica website.  Scumbags.  You can Google it!

Called Feb. 10, 2017, left no message. As a techie myself, I can tell you: NEVER believe these people phoning about your computer. It's always a scam. After all, how would they have access to your system to know anything about it (unless they hacked in), and how would they know what phone number is associated with it?

After Googling the number and finding these comments, I answered the phone "IT Department". Same heavily accented man offering "assistance" with Windows. I told him I had 30 computers running Windows, and asked him "Which one? Give me the system name, and I would be more than happy to let you take a look. Bob told me he called for help earlier.". He hung up.
