800-317-0924  A robot said that someone just ordered an
800 dollar iPhone in my Amazon account, and to press "1"
to confirm the order.

Since I don't have an Amazon account, and scammers call me
everyday, I pressed "1" to give them trouble and maybe
to get some real info on who they are.

A guy answered, then hung up on me. No surprise there.

Since they faked an 800 number, there's not much harm in
calling it back.

If nothing else, I can tell the real owners that scammers
are faking their number.

So I called back. A guy answered "Amazon", so I asked why he called.

CLICK!

So I called again. This time a woman answered "Amazon", and seemed
to think that she had called me. I guess their phone system transfers all
outgoing and incoming calls to them.

Probably hoping to catch a few more victims if the phone actually connects
back to them.

Anyway, when I started asking questions, she hung up on me.

The point of this long comment is that someone paid for this 800 number
to connect to them. Therefore if someone has access to the payment
records, they can follow the money trail and get these criminals
prosecuted.

Just got a call that an iPhone had been ordered on my account.  Press 1 or 2.  Just as so many others have reported.

They lm on my house phone.  Said they were Amazon verifying $799 charge. I checked with Amazon.  Scam call

Amazon scam ... on my landline yesterday.

Just got one of these scam calls. They caught me off guard as I had just ordered from Amazon the day before so I pressed 2 on impulse then I hung up

Just called me and said someone bought a iphone and wanted to verify.  Push 1 for yes and 2 for no.  I pushed no, and someone answered Amazon.  You could hear a bunch of loud voices in the background.  Then they hung up

Exact same situation as others indicated - reporting suspicious activity on your Amazon account. $799 charge etc.

Scam call, told me I needed to download an app called Team Viewer so they can get into my phone. I called Amazon and they said they won't call you.
